10 Wisconsin Setters To Recruit at PD Gauntlet

The Prep Dig Gauntlet is less than a month away. Some of the top athletes in Wisconsin will be in attendance and today we are going to zero in on the setters. We have some high level 2027s who are still available and some under the radar 2028s who need to be on the radar to get to camp this summer. Here are 10 setters to recruit at the Prep Dig Gauntlet.    [player_tooltip player_id='485131' first='Lilliani' last='Big Eagle'] has been a key piece of the success for the Class of 2027 at [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite']. She was one of the setters on their 16 Open team in 2025 and has been continuing with the 17 Navy team along with her counterpart [player_tooltip player_id='510429' first='Abigail' last='Beaumont']. The two have been a rock solid duo running a 6-2 the past two years. Big Eagle is well trained, fundamentally sound and can chuck it from end line to end line. She also defends her position well out of right back being a true defender before a setter. She has been part of a successful Freedom High School program where they have continued to elevate their game.     [program_tooltip program_id='428672' first='Milwaukee' last='Sting'] 17 Black has had quite a season, grabbing a National division bid to USAV nationals in Indy pretty early and competing at the open level for national qualifiers. This group is accustomed to high level competition. One of the setters on this team in [player_tooltip player_id='435242' first='Laina' last='Kirsch']. She is extremely quick with her feet and her hands, being able to get her hands on the ball while on the run. She defends well and anticipates to be able to put her attackers in position to terminate.     [player_tooltip player_id='435879' first='Amy' last='Denkert'] just glides on the court. The 2027 setter out of Waunakee is able to use her athleticism and quickness to create opportunities for her attackers. She is accustomed to success prepping at Waunakee where they could be gearing up for an even bigger 2026 high school season after being in the final four in 2025. At the Prep Dig Gauntlet she will be competing for Madtown 171 National that has plenty of weapons to score points. They have plenty of experience at the open level and will be ready to compete.     This I AM VBC 17 Red team has been playing together for years. Ever since I've covered them, this group has had the same core of athletes where they have won plenty of matches over the years. One of the key setters for this team is [player_tooltip player_id='435886' first='Camilla' last='Kreif'] who preps at Kewaskum High School where she has over 1500 assists with one more season to play. She plays with a mature IQ and is real savvy with how to get her hitters available to terminate. They have a 17 Liberty bid to nationals.     [player_tooltip player_id='435883' first='Bella' last='Kaldor'] has always been one of the more dynamic players in the Milwaukee area. She has do it all where she is a setter/hitter combo player. She's been a standout for [program_tooltip program_id='557038' first='Milwaukee' last='Juniors'] 17-1 where they have put together an exciting season where they have an American bid to USAV National in Indy. Kaldor is one who can dish or she can score points on her own. This is a crew that has flown a little under the radar and need to be ones to watch this summer.     [player_tooltip player_id='545530' first='Sallieann' last='Burrows'] has been a key piece for the [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] 16 Elite squad this year. She has quite the all around skill set where this club season she has been one of their setters. On the high school courts she can set and swing where she does both for Manitowoc Lutheran. The Lancers brought home a D3 state title this past fall where Burrows found ways to make plays all season whether it was with her set or her swing. She has a mature IQ and a great feel for the game that will be fun to see as she progresses over the summer.     [player_tooltip player_id='587050' first='Brooklyn' last='Hughes'] has been one of the setters for [program_tooltip program_id='428672' first='Milwaukee' last='Sting'] 16 Black who has strung together some big performances this season. They qualified for nationals after a third place finish in the USA Division at the Northeast Qualifier in Boston. They have now upgraded their bid to a National division bid where this team made it to the gold bracket of 15 National in 2025. Hughes is real quick with her feet where she is able to get to the ball with her hands. She is also impressive defensively where she can make a clean first contact for her libero to put the ball nice and high for the pins. This will be a dangerous team in the 16 Open division at the Prep Dig Gauntlet - they know how to win.     414 Elite out of Milwaukee is another 16s team who has put together a successful season. They took home the 16 Liberty Division at the Windy City Qualifier, securing themselves a spot at USAV Nationals in Indy. Frei just knows how to run the show. She runs a 5-1 where she has such positive intangibles. From a skillset standpoint everything starts with her feet. She gets herself in position to receive the ball high and neutral where her attackers are able to terminate with multiple tempos. She is also someone who can be offensive when the opportunity comes. Definitely put a star next to her name to get to camp this summer.     I was able to watch the I AM 16 Red team a few times this season and their vibe is so scrappy. [player_tooltip player_id='743142' first='Nora' last='Renk'] represents that scrappiness where she is going to turn the energy up when she comes into the match. She has quick feet, a smooth release, and defends her position really well. There is a chip on the shoulder of this team where they show no fear and always look forward to competing.     Madtown has put together a huge season as a club in 2026. Their 162 National team has a bid to the Freedom Division for USAV Nationals in Indianapolis. One athlete to take a look at would be Brynn Jackowski who is a really scrappy and athletic setter. She is a small town kid who preps at Markesan High School inbetween Madison and Fond du Lac. She is a really strong defender out of right back and is able to push the tempo on the second contact. She is not afraid to jump set and quicken things up. This will be a fun team to track at the Gauntlet and USAV Nationals.
