Yiling (annabelle) Hu may be one of the younger athletes in the field, but her mindset already feels advanced beyond her class. She is excited to bring competitiveness, sportsmanship, and vocal energy into Summer NIT while helping create an environment where teammates support one another throughout high-level competition. Hu wants people watching to notice her team’s chemistry and effort, but also how much they genuinely enjoy competing together against strong national opponents.

What separates Hu is her understanding that recruiting is not something athletes simply wait for.

That level of ownership stands out immediately, especially from a younger athlete. Hu is excited to compete against nationally respected teams like A5 because she sees those matches as opportunities for growth rather than intimidation. Off the court, she describes herself as organized, caring, adventurous, and deeply driven toward her long-term goal of playing Division I volleyball. Coaches evaluating younger athletes who combine maturity, communication, and self-awareness will likely leave Arizona intrigued by Hu’s long-term upside.
