Let's give a nod to the Kansas overachievers.

Over the past several days, I've been churning out Class of 2028 features on our Nebraska site. It's our way of counting down the days until June 15th, which marks the much-publicized start of open contact between college recruiters and rising junior prospects. This date is just the beginning of an exciting, transformative journey, and we're committed to covering the 2028s throughout their tenure on the prep stage.

One of my Nebraska articles discussed an elite group of 2028s playing up a year during this year's club season. We might as well bring this motif to the Kansas crew. The Heart of America Region has given us plenty of options for this one, so we're ready to bring out another wave of midwestern "overachievers."

Don't limit your 2028 recruiting agenda to the 16s age group.

Dynasty has never been afraid to move its top setters up the age ladder. Bain is another shining example, and her command of the Dynasty 17 Black offense has elevated the lineup into national title contention. She's an athletic, gun-slinging setter who will readily take risks while off the net. Opposing blockers also have to track Bain's deceptive dumps whenever she's at the net. This Mill Valley standout has perfected the art of jump setting to further bolster her attacking presence in the front row. 17 Black has a clear signal-caller to lean on at USAV Nationals.

We'll never pass up an opportunity to revisit our Prep Dig Iowa Clash champs. Tindall and her Manhattan Mayhem 17P squad have collected a lot more hardware since that early-season trek to Des Moines. The peak of Mayhem's rise came in home territory as the team soared to a 17 USA title at the Show Me Qualifier. Tindall has been a multi-dimensional frontcourt contributor throughout these efforts, making her presence felt in the middle or on the right. Her fearless, hard-hitting style fits right into the Manhattan Mayhem identity and will pay dividends again at GJNC.

Black is the lone Class of 2028 representative for Mizuno Club North 17Jessen, but she makes sure to carry the banner well. She is a true six-rotation threat on the outside who exhibits range and versatility beyond her years. This impact was especially apparent at MEQ, where Black led her team to a bid-earning runner-up finish in the 17 Liberty division. Black was relentless with her tool shots and could detonate through any seam she was given. And, of course, this Holton High School star rounded everything out with her tremendous ball control in the back row.

Stepping into a new environment can be tough for setters, but Wisdom has not hesitated to make new connections during this year's club campaign. She joined KNVBC's 17 Showtime lineup and has provided a steady presence at the setter spot. Her smooth hands yielded a productive sophomore season at Maize High School last fall, so her emergence with the 17s is no surprise. A Gold bracket run at the Show Me Qualifier has further cemented Wisdom as a top-tier Kansas 2028 who can play around the dial.

We had to get KC Power involved, especially after the club's 17-2 lineup logged a fourth-place finish at last month's Show Me Qualifier. Rome anchored the effort through her uncanny ability to find the hot hand and mix up tempos. She thrives when setting three-hitter rotations out of the back row, which also allows Rome's right-back defense to shine. But Rome also provides ample athleticism to run a 5-1 and square up with terminal left-side hitters. The setter spot has been prominent in this feature, and Rome's excellence adds to the movement.

We're wrapping up with an athlete whose length is ready-made for playing up a year. Stanchfield stands tall in the middle and is adept at hitting at the peak of her jump. The KC Ignite 17-1 standout has accelerated her development this spring while adding some tremendous defensive touches at the net, too. Stanchfield compiled an impressive highlight tape as her team earned top-ten finishes at the Sunshine and Show Me qualifiers. We're eager to see her build off a triple-digit-kill sophomore tenure with the Paola Panthers.
