Over the past stretch, each of them has put in the hard work to sharpen their skills and has begun to settle into and embrace their roles on the court. You can see that progress showing out on the courts and with the impact they are making for their teams. We're looking forward to following them and seeing how they continue to develop both on the court and in the rankings.

Remember to follow me on Instagram @Prepdigamy and Facebook @PrepDig Amy for up to date event coverage, stories, and more.

While Essig may not be the tallest setter on the court, she has no problem running a 5-1. Her quickness and relentless hustle stand out right away, as she seems to find a way to get to every ball. She does a great job delivering sets that seem tailored to each of her hitters, putting them in positions where they can be successful. With a strong group of passers and attackers around her, she is likely to have a stellar senior year. I would not be surprised to see her lead her team on deep play off run come November.

I've watched Floerke play quite a few times over the last few years, and one thing that really stands out is how much she has grown into a truly versatile player. While versatile hitters often get a lot of attention, I think versatility in the back row is just as important. Floerke is comfortable setting, dropping back to pass, and also has no problem playing all three backrow defensive positions. I've also seen her put on the libero jersey when asked. Florerke is the type of player who embraces whatever role her team needs her to fill and does it without hesitation or question. That kind of selflessness and adaptability makes a huge difference, and her teams are better because of it.

Desota-Weston is another player who has shown tremendous growth over the past year. While she has always had a strong setting foundation, the growth in her net play, court vision, and overall range have really stood out. She covers a lot of ground, and still finds a way to put her hitters in good situations. She does an excellent job getting all of her attackers involved and spreading out the offense. Given the progress she has made, I expect not only her game, but her ranking, to continue to rise.

Wymer is a newer middle to me, but watch her for a while and it doesn't take long to see she's got real potential. She has good height, a quick arm swing, and can terminate at a high rate. She moves well in transition and is pretty comfortable running both the gap and the slide, which can make her tough to defend. She's one we're excited to track as she continues to grow and develop her game.

Olsvig is a libero/defensive specialist who is starting to really settle into her role. She brings a lot of energy and emotion to the court, which if you see her on defense, you will notice right away as she is fun to watch. I have watched her make some aggressive plays that include impressive dives and saves. Overall, she's a sold player who competes hard and is growing more comfortable and confident in the back row each and every time she steps on the court.
