speaks passionately about the lasting friendships she’s formed during the NTDP training sessions. “I love meeting people from different states, getting to know them off the court, and having an even deeper connection on the court. We become a team, and it has been so great to meet friendly girls who love the game as much as I do.” At NTDP we play a lot of volleyball, watch a lot of volleyball, and learn a lot of volleyball, but we also get to know each other a lot. We have our meals together, we share a room together, and we become a team. It has been so great to meet the friendliest girls, who love the game as much as I do, and who also worked hard to be here and train in the USA gym. I am so grateful to meet these amazing girls and I cannot wait to keep playing with them.
When discussing the pressure of being among the top 3% of athletes in her class, Abbie shares valuable advice from her club coach. “My coach told me that my journey is different than others. I can’t compare myself to any other athlete but rather be the best version of myself. So when dealing with pressure, I just remind myself to play MY game.”
Each staff member at NTDP has contributed uniquely to her development, acting as positive influences always willing to help and teach. “Every coach here knows the game like the back of their hand, and picking their brain on their volleyball knowledge has increased my volleyball IQ and abilities,”
Abbie extends her gratitude, “The entire USAVB staff wants nothing but the best for everyone. I want to give a HUGE shoutout to Courtney, the director of NTDP, who works so hard to make each training series amazing!” Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig
