Charlotte Smith enjoyed the parts of the college camp that forced athletes to think quickly.

One drill in particular stood out. During 3-on-3 back-row play, the pace increased and players had to make decisions with very little time to react. Charlotte felt her volleyball IQ showed up naturally in those situations, especially when opportunities arose to send the ball over on two and catch the defense off guard.

When reflecting on the day, she kept coming back to the importance of supporting teammates and competing with maximum effort regardless of the score or situation.

Her favorite moments were not necessarily the most complicated plays. They were the long rallies that ended with a kill and rewarded patience, persistence, and teamwork.

As summer continues, Charlotte plans to spend time training in both beach and indoor volleyball while focusing on improving her ability to read the game. She believes better reads create better opportunities, and that understanding continues to shape the way she approaches every match.
