Kayfes had been utilized as a six-rotation outside hitter for Athena 17-1 Gold before an ankle injury had her sitting out for a few weeks, missing CEVA Regionals. However, we have word that Kayfes is back in the gym and plans to play at USAV Nationals as the team competes in the 17 Liberty division. Incredibly athletic and dynamic, she proves tough to stop from anywhere on the court. She elevates when attacking, with impressive leaping abilities and some serious hang time.

Kayfes, a six-rotation outside hitter for Athena 17-1, is an excellent all-around athlete. When attacking, Kayfes showcases her heavy arm and fast swing, both of which she uses effectively to put the ball away from either pin. Kayfes is a very consistent serve receive passer, too, and she’s quick and reactive on defense. From the baseline, Kayfes brings a tough jump float serve.

Kayfes was a dominant attacker for Valley Catholic this past high school season, receiving Lewis and Clark First Team All-League. Transitioning between the middle and the outside depending on the team’s needs, she showcased her versatility. However, this club season, with Athena 17-1 Gold, she will be playing on the pin. She makes for a lethal attacker with some serious hang time, a quick arm, and great attacking range. She has also made great improvements to her backrow play and is well on her way to becoming a complete six-rotation outside hitter.

Kayfes is another multifaceted player, able to successfully hit from the middle for Valley Catholic and from the outside as a six-rotation pin hitter on the OJVA 16-1 team. Kayfes was awarded 3A Lewis & Clark all-league second team honors last season after helping the Valiants win the 3A State Championship match. Kayfes is a physical player, using her height and powerful arm to swing deep into the court. She also moves the ball around and through the block effortlessly. Kayfes will be important for the Valiants as they seek another State win.

Oozing with athleticism, Kayfes is a stellar outside hitter who played opposite Hill for the OJVA 16-1s at Regionals. Kayfes is an incredibly versatile player and can hit from anywhere on the court; with her explosive approach and high reach on the ball, Kayfes was instrumental in her team’s great play. While she’s new to hitting on the outside, it is clear that Kayfes belongs there; it will be fun to see how she continues to grow in her play on the left side.

Kayfes is an insanely athletic and versatile attacker. Touching over 10 feet, she can hit in the middle with the best of them. However, she makes for an impressive right side, given her massive block, but she can also swing on the outside with conviction. She has a fast approach, a high reach, and a quick arm, so she proves terminal from anywhere on the court. Gaining more confidence in her back-row play, she has the potential to be a standout six-rotation pin hitter from the class of 2025.

Kayfes is another player who shot up in terms of improvement over the last year. During her 14s season, she did not have a prominent role on the team, playing behind some very talented attackers. However, some athletes switched clubs which allowed her to take on a much bigger role for OJVA 15-1 as a starting middle blocker. A very competitive swimmer until a few years ago, she is incredibly athletic and strong. It will be interesting to see where Kayfes is utilized on OJVA 16-1, she is incredibly versatile and could play any position across the front row.
