Beloit’s Channel parlayed a chance to play as a freshman and a strong showing at a Prep Dig Showcase into a rise up the rankings. She was previously ranked No. 40 overall and is now ranked No. 9. She shared setting duties with sophomore Colbi Stroede Colbi Stroede 5'5" | S State KS last fall. Her freshman stat line included 288 assists, 141 kills, and 110 digs. She plays with confidence, and her play was a highlight at the December Showcase.

What can’t Channell do? She joined the Beloit roster this fall and filled the stat sheet as a do-everything setter-attacker hybrid. That kind of broad influence is perfect for a showcase environment where all skills are tested. Channell was an outstanding distributor on second contacts but also brought unparalleled power as a terminator. Every time the rotational dial turned in Sunday’s scrimmages, Channell showed us something new.

Beloit’s Channell was one of the athletes who traveled the furthest to attend this event. I saw her play last summer and early during the prep season. I could already notice an improvement in her game. Her confidence has improved since those earlier matches. She would be one of two setters in this group.

Channell’s freshman season stat line included 288 assists, 141 kills, and 110 digs. She is currenlty ranked No. 6 overall in the Kansas Class of 2029.

Last, but certainly not least, is Beloit’s Channell playing the role of Ole Anderson. Although she is not a grizzled old veteran like Ole, she did, however, have to step up and become a leader right away for a young Trojan squad, which battled with injuries this season. She finished her freshman campaign with 288 assists, 141 kills, and 110 digs. She is a versatile athlete who is a six-rotation prospect in the making. She is a grinder and is willing to put in the extra work to help her team succeed. Like the original Four Horsemen, I will try to keep Channell off the mic! She is ranked No. 6 overall in the Kansas Class of 2029.

Channell is the second significant rankings climber this time around. After previously being ranked No. 40, she is now ranked No. 6 overall. She played 58 varsity sets this season, sharing time at setter and as a hitter. She recorded 277 assists, 137 kills, and 18 blocks. Beloit’s a program that had players suffer significant injuries this season and had some growing pains. They will look to bounce back from an early exit in the Class 3A Regionals and improve on a 29-10 record next fall.
