A towering right side hitter, she’s been considered one of the top players in her age group in Texas for quite some years now and her performances over the period have just confirmed that. Because of her size and skills, she can be unstoppable when in system, making contact with the ball at a very high point and hitting angles one would expect from a shorter player. She can hit different tempos on the right and is also steady and reliable on the left. Gaido’s blocking is also a major factor as she can be a real challenge to opposing pin hitters when well-positioned to make stops.

The top right side hitter in Texas in her age group according to our Class of 2025 Prep Dig State Rankings, Gaido was with Austin Skyline 17 Royal as they ranked ninth with three wins and three losses. A very tall and skilled player, she was unstoppable when in system, using her quick right arm to beat blockers while making contact with the ball at a very high point. Gaido displayed good versatility, scoring at a high level from the right and the left. Her big blocking was also an important defensive weapon for the team, forcing opposing hitters to hit around her.

Austin Skyline 16 Royal’s Gaido is another player who was originally a middle, but moved to the right and has been finding great success. Her 6’5″ frame makes of her an exceptional blocker and her team uses that very well, matching her up with the opponents’ top scoring option. Her long arms give her excellent reach above the net and she uses it very well to press opponents. Gaido is also a strong offensive player, making a strong approach and making contact with the ball at a very high point in her swings. She’s also well-rounded from a technical standpoint and can strengthen her team’s receive on some rotations if needed.

Gaido is one of the most promising class of 2025 players in Texas, ranking third in our Prep Dig State Rankings. She will be one of the stars of the Austin Skyline 16 Royal squad that will compete in the 16 Open division. Gaido’s 6’5″ frame is obviously the first thing that stands out in her game, but what truly sets her apart is her ability to perform multiple roles on the court while remaining effective with her offense. Originally a middle blocker, she’s great at stopping opponents at the net and can also pass if needed.
