About AJ

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very fearless player. I am not afraid to make the big plays and go for everything. I am very aggressive player as well, and I want to push my team to be successful.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my mentality as focused and hard-working. I am able to focus on what needs to be done and figure out a way to execute it. I am also very hard-working. I realize that in order to get better there are hours that need to be put in. I more than willing to put in those hours.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am apart of Drama Club at my school. Last year I received a superior acting award for my performance in our schools One Act.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through the years I have developed calm leadership. I have learned how to lead a team and maintain a cool head while doing it.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for colleges with a great academic program as well as a volleyball program.

Venekamp had a solid day running the offense for her Kairos team. Venekamp read the floor really well and made some good setting choices. She delivered the ball to the pin with the tempo, found her middles when in transition, and also delivered some big reversals. Venekamp’s excellent floor reading ability also makes her highly effective on defense. She was super scrappy and knew were to be to position herself for optimal court coverage.
