Similar to Elizabethtown in the first round, Apollo served hard at her. After some bad touches, she came out, regrouped then made a difference in the win for the Mustangs. Thompson still makes a lot of the simple passes, nicely backing up plays at the net. She dives for balls when necessary and has displayed remarkable improvements on her ball control. On one play in the third set against Apollo, a Wettstain hit appeared destined for the ground, but Thompson slid over to make the clean pass that North Oldham put down for a big point. Sound serve reception and first touches will again be a key for the Mustangs this fall and Thompson will do what she can to make sure she makes those sound two to three-point passes. Thompson (pictured) is athletic and it shows in how she tracks down soft and hard hit balls. Thompson puts walls behind balls making for a smooth offensive rhythm. Thompson moves quickly both forward and backward and side to side.

Thompson made a number of sound first passes for the Union UA Black team, helping the team go 2-1 in Pool Play 3 in the Open 16 Division for first place. Thompson goes down on her legs trying to keep balls up and makes things happen out of system.

Thompson is doing a great job patrolling the back for the UA Black squad. Thompson calls off teammates then makes sound passes to start the offensive rhythm. She’s also not afraid to go low to make pancake digs. Thompson puts her hands up quick to make saves on hard balls.
