Newbauer was one of my surprise gems from this summer’s Nebraska Stock Up Showcase. In fact, her distribution and location were good enough to land her a spot on my all-showcase team. The Club Legacy setter carried a ton of momentum from her spring campaign with 16 Bravo, but her performance at the showcase demonstrated even more growth. Setting unfamiliar teammates is a challenge for any showcase athlete. Newbauer made those connections look seamless.

Club Legacy’s setter pool is even deeper than we thought. Newbauer helped run the show for this year’s 16 Bravo squad and made multiple Gold appearances at major qualifiers and postseason events. She’s a deceptive setter who isn’t afraid to push the middles while drifting off the net. This is a tough skill to nail down under ideal circumstances, but Newbauer forged these middle connections with any athlete at our showcase. That takes incredible finesse.

Club Legacy setters have impressed us across multiple age groups, and Newbauer has been an exceptional representative for the 16s. The Club Legacy 16 Bravo setter guided her team to multiple high-profile triumphs this year, including a Gold bracket appearance at the Northern Lights Qualifier. Newbauer’s mature feel for tempo and location has been a difference-maker for 16 Bravo’s attackers, who have taken full advantage of split-block opportunities. The Omaha area is already accumulating a wealth of setter talent in the 2027 class.
