Schroeder developed her game on the North Scott sophomore team last season, when the Lancer varsity won the Class 4A state championship. The versatile athlete was ready for her chance this year, when more playing time was available after the graduation losses from last year. Through the first 45 sets, Schroeder was leading the squad in digs and ranked second in kills. I scouted her in person at the Benton Bobcat Invitational this month. She was standing out through six rotations. An effective attacker thanks to a big vertical leap and power in the swing, Schroeder also holds it down in the back row. She’s fluid in serve-receive. Schroeder appears to be a prospect on the rise.
