Schroeder led North Scott in blocks last season, when the Lancers won the Class 4A state championship. She also ranked fifth in kills, hitting an efficient .252. It was good to see her competing again at the Benton Bobcat Invitational earlier this season. In a program that lost a lot of production to graduation and needed the presence of veterans, Schroeder looked comfortable in a leadership role. She also was producing as an attacker and a defensive presence in the middle of the net. Schroeder looks taller than the 5-foot-11 at which she’s listed and plays bigger than that thanks to long arms. There’s a great feel for match flow and getting in position to defend at the net. She also shines in basketball and track, and has a path to helping a college in multiple sports.
