Well, here we are. The regular season is behind us, the road to Hot Springs is here, and it's time to take another look at the Prep Dig Arkansas High School Player of the Year race.

I've been following this group throughout the season. Some names have been near the top from the beginning. Others have worked their way into the conversation, and a few have made some pretty significant moves. The updated numbers have changed the rankings again. We had another injury take a player out, [player_tooltip player_id='774294' first='Lily' last='Parker'] has been sidelined with a broken finger (tough for a setter). Next up is [player_tooltip player_id='771153' first='Beaux' last='Cameron'] from Har-Ber. Before we get into the Top 15, I want to go back over what we're looking at and how we're evaluating these players. This top 15 can change. Take [player_tooltip player_id='746203' first='Taylor' last='Wherry'] for instance, she has been in the upper end of this group. She possesses every quality you want in a candidate. I need to get her updated stats and Mount has a big game today vs Marion.

First, this is NOT a recruiting ranking.

I don't care if a player has committed to a Power Four school, has 20 offers or is still trying to get her first college coach to return an email. None of that matters here. This is about what these players have done during the 2026 high school volleyball season. We're looking at individual production, efficiency, all-around contributions, positional value, level of competition, team success and leadership.

I use a statistical model to help sort through the numbers. It looks at production, efficiency, errors and contributions across several categories. But I still believe you have to watch volleyball and understand what you're looking at. No model is going to tell you everything about a player. The State Tournament will play a big factor as well.

The four things you're looking for in an Arkansas Volleyball Player of the Year are:

1. Individual Performance: Production, efficiency and consistency. It's not just how many kills, assists, digs or blocks a player records, but how effectively she produces.

2. Impact on Team Success: Winning matters. How important is that player to her team's success? Does she make the players around her better?

3. Level of Competition: Who is she playing against? Classification, strength of schedule and performance against quality opponents all factor into the evaluation.

4. Leadership and Intangibles: How does she respond under pressure? Does she lead, compete and step up when her team needs her most?

The bottom line: You're looking for the player who combines outstanding individual performance with the greatest impact on her team's success, against quality competition, while demonstrating leadership.

With that out of the way, here's where the Top 15 stands as we head into the postseason.

Farmington: 32-4 | 1st, 5A West

I've talked about Rehkopf's production all season, and the numbers just keep getting bigger. She's now over 600 kills. That's impressive enough, but what separates her is the efficiency. Emmy is averaging 5.5 kills per set while hitting .384.

When you're carrying that kind of offensive load, maintaining a hitting percentage close to .400 is something special. She's also added 366 digs, and Farmington has put together a 32-4 record.

There really isn't much missing from her résumé. Her backrow play has really gotten sharper as the season has gone on. Will she lead Farmington to the title? Off to a good start.

I've said it before. There aren't many players in Arkansas doing what Ambeau is doing. Look at the stat line. That's a lot of volleyball coming from one player. Ambeau isn't just filling in at different positions. She's producing wherever Cabot needs her.

She can put the ball away, run the offense, defend and block. She's also doing it against 6A competition. Her hitting percentage isn't as high as some of the other players in this group, but you have to consider everything she's being asked to do.

If you're looking for the most versatile player in this race, Ambeau has a pretty strong argument as the best.

Fayetteville: 28-1-1 | 1st, 6A West

I've said this before, but setters don't always get the credit they deserve in conversations like this.

Miller is approaching 1,000 assists. She's averaging 9.8 assists per set while running the offense for a Fayetteville team that has lost just once. In past seasons she has been asked to do a lot more attacking, this season she's more of a distributor. The best in the state in my humble opinion.

Fayetteville is 28-1-1, playing in the 6A West, the toughest conference top to bottom in the state. She's also contributed 275 digs, 80 kills and 38 aces.

Miller has been doing that at a very high level all season. And with as many weapons as she has, it is hard keeping everyone happy. That is where her leadership is really on display. She remains calm no matter what is happening on the court.

Morrilton: 22-12

Harbin has quietly put together one heck of a season. She's crossed the 500-kill mark and is averaging five kills per set. That's a tremendous amount of offensive production.

But the 373 digs are just as important to me. Harbin isn't a player who comes off the floor after three rotations. She's being asked to produce on both sides of the ball.

The .263 hitting percentage is solid considering the number of swings she's taking. Morrilton has played a lot of volleyball, and Harbin has been leading them all year.

*note, unfortunaly while writing this article, Pottsville ended Morrilton's season. We will see how that affects the final rankings.

Harmony Grove: 23-5-1

Walker has been one of the most consistent offensive producers we've tracked this season. She's sitting at 458 kills and averaging 5.1 per set. That puts her among the leaders in this group.

But what I really like is the 313 digs. She's doing more than carrying the offensive load. Walker has also added 44 aces, and Harmony Grove is 23-5-1. I know smaller-school players sometimes get overlooked when we start talking about the best players in Arkansas.

Don't make that mistake here. Walker has shown her leadership and on the court skills all season. Big matchup today vs Harrison.

One hundred aces. I had to look at that number again. Edwards has reached triple digits in aces while also recording 583 assists, 115 kills and 178 digs. Catelyn is one of two players with over 100 aces, she'saveraging better than an ace per set. The triple-triple is impressive.

But don't get caught up in just the serving numbers. Edwards is running Hackett's offense, contributing as an attacker and playing defense. Hackett is 25-3, and Edwards continues to provide the leadership to keep them focused.

She's another example of why we can't evaluate every player using the same statistics. And don't overlook her because she plays in 2A, the production is there.

She's averaging nearly three kills, five assists and three digs per set. That's a lot of responsibility.

Bauxite has put together a 26-7 record, and is my favorite to win the 4A title. Asa is one the top athletes in any sport in the state of Arkansas. Perry has guided a fairly young roster to the #1 seed, they face a stiff test in Westside today.

We had another injury take a player out, Lily ParkerLilyParker
5'7" | S/RS
Greenbrier | 2028 StateAR
has been sidelined with a broken finger (tough for a setter). Next up is Beaux CameronBeauxCameron
5'11" | OH/DS/L
Har-Ber | 2029 StateAR
from Har-Ber. Before we get into the Top 15, I want to go back over what we're looking at and how we're evaluating these players. This top 15 can change. Take Taylor WherryTaylorWherry
5'11" | OH/DS/L
Mount St. Mary's | 2028 StateAR
for instance, she has been in the upper end of this group.

Subscribing doesn't change who the Scout covers, it changes who gets to see it.
*Cabot lost to Bentonville 3-0 in the second round of the 6A State Playoffs.

Fayetteville takes on Shiloh Christian today at 4 pm.

79 Sets | 583 Assists | 7.4 APS | 115 Kills | 178 Digs | 100 Aces Hackett: 25-3 | 1st, 2A-3 One hundred aces. I had to look at that number again. Edwards has reached triple digits in aces…
Perry is one of those players where you need to look at the entire stat sheet. She's got 227 kills, 379 assists and 217 digs. Add 45 aces, and you start to see just how much she's contributing.

I'm going to keep coming back to one number with Calhoon. .414. She's hitting over .400 while averaging 3.5 kills per set. That's not a middle getting a handful of swings and putting up a big hitting percentage. Calhoon has 283 kills. She's producing offensively, and she's doing it at an extremely efficient rate.
She's also added 37 aces and 31 blocks. Valley View is 28-2-1, and Calhoon has been a great leader for this squad and taken

Hamilton has been one of the more productive six-rotation players in 6A. She's got 388 kills and 327 digs. She's averaging 3.8 kills per set and better than three digs per set while competing in the 6A West.
Her .228 hitting percentage is one of the things separating her from the players above her, but the offensive workload and defensive production are significant. Tristen is one of the most exciting players in the state.
Hamilton has been asked to do a lot for Bentonville, and the numbers show it.

Another sophomore. Gigerich has 355 kills while hitting .255.
She's also added 249 digs and 33 blocks. That's a strong season for anyone, much less a Class of 2029 player competing in 6A. Bryant's record isn't as strong as some of the teams represented above her, but her individual production has continued to improve.
Brinkley displays rare size and power for any age. As she continues to refine her skills, I would bet that she will be towards the top of this list for the foreseeable future. Bryant is a young squad, they will be a tough out for the next 2 years.
