Beyond the court, Charlie enjoys mentoring younger players and helped run her high school’s youth camp this summer. Coach Glasgow selected Charlie as his MVP because she delivered the kind of offense expected from a dominant OH1. She put balls away in system with a wide range of shots, scoring both down the line and with wrist away swings to deep corners. Charlie also made an impact as a blocker, creating structure and forcing attackers to adjust. Her ability to score and defend on both pins makes her a versatile six rotation weapon.

Charlie says her attacking is her strongest skill, using both power and strategy to score. She is focused on improving her serve receive by reading the ball earlier and keeping her shoulders forward, and she brings intention to every rep. Her goal this club season is to build strong team chemistry and earn a bid to Nationals, competing for a title with Seal Beach.

She also loves mentoring younger players and helping them grow with confidence. Charlie shows up prepared, hungry, and ready to perform in every phase of the game.

She has been working on increasing her vertical, sharpening back-row play, and building her mental toughness by creating high-pressure situations in practice.

“I want to be the kind of teammate who lifts others up and sets the standard through my actions,” she said. Lucky-Mitchell also described how growing up in a single-mother household taught her the importance of teamwork, comparing family responsibilities to the way a team shares the load.
