WI Juniors Grand Slam: 15s That Impressed!

The Grand Slam Tournament in Milwaukee showcased some great talent. I was able to walk around for 2 days checking out athletes in the 14-18 age divisions and saw some amazing studs. The following players all shined in the 15s division. Check out these girls and learn their names as you are going to be hearing about them for awhile!

Remember to follow me on Instagram @Prepdigamy and Facebook @PrepDig Amy for up to date event coverage, stories, and more.

Shepherd is a strong setter who sets tempo, can push ball to the pin, and find her middles in transition. She has excellent court awareness and makes smart choices while running the offense including when and where to throw down a perfect timed setter dump. Sherpherd also has a good laser of a float serve that many teams had trouble handling.

Marciniak had a great weekend at the Grand Slam tournament. She does an excellent job transitioning out, exploding to the pin, and delivering hard cross and line shots. Marciniak also contributes in the backrow. She was solid in serve receive, tracked down several attacks that were sent to the deep corners, and delivered some powerful backrow attacks of her own.

Kuglitsch is a solid libero with a ton of potential. She has a quick first step and excellent read that allows her to track down many out of system balls and pick up tips and dumps. She also creates good angles on serve receive, keeping her team in system so they can run their offense. Kuglitsch is going to be one of those liberos to keep tabs on as she continues to grow and develop her game.

Visner was on fire this weekend. She has a quick release and high window which allows her to run not only a fast offense, but makes it hard for defenders to read her and keep up with her. Visner is also one of those setters with an excellent setter IQ. She knows who to feed and when and also how to get all of her attackers involved and contributing on the court. Teams would be lucky to have Visner running their offense.

Pritzl is a middle on the rise. Not only is she quick and smart on the court, but she has quite the range. She can terminate the gap set, hit the quick out of the middle, and also attack and dominate from the right pin. Not only is she an offensive weapon, but Pritzl also contributes on the defensive end. She reads well, moves well laterally, and has good hand positioning which allows her to close blocks or get block touches.

Christensen-Bara is a 6 rotation outside that does so many things well. She does a solid job on serve receive, plays excellent off blocker defense, and has a good serve. Her attacking is not only explosive, but versatile. Christensen-Bara makes good attacking decisions. She does a great job reading the block in front of her and thus has the ability to alter her shots to hit the seam, go around the block, or power it off opponents hands.

Connor is beast in the back court. She is fast and fluid in everything she does. She has an exceptional read on the ball, knows how to position herself quickly and correctly, and executes with precision. Connor has a high level of hustle and grit and will always go all out on every play to make a save. Connor is one Bro that is definitely on the list for the class of 2028 to follow.

I have seen Mast play a few times now and can this girl move. She is highly effective on blocking, reading the opposing teams setter well, using her solid footwork and quickness to put up an effective block not only in the middle but from pin to pin. Mast is also highly effective on the offense end. She has fast, fluid movements and a lightening fast arm swing which allows her to deliver powerful shots to both corners of the court.
