The approach is clean and fluid, the timing is precise, and the length she brings to the pin makes the contact point she reaches genuinely difficult for opposing blockers to account for across a full match. She is an offensive threat from every position on the court and her teammates go into every rally knowing that when the ball comes to her side it is a point waiting to happen. Long and lean with the athletic tools to be an immediate contributor at the next level, she carries the kind of quiet confidence in her game that does not need to announce itself because the ball hitting the floor does it for her. She is a junior with another full year of development still ahead of her, and the player she is going to be when she steps on a college campus is already visible in what she showed today.

Courtney was another player who helped Archbishop Mitty make the tournament and really upped her game in the final. She finished with eight kills in the final, which tied for second most on the team. Courtney’s defensive abilities also impressed me in day two of the tournament as well.

She has been working on offensive and defensive contributions with a long-term goal of helping her team return to the state championship.

“Our goal this season is to keep working hard every day in hopes of getting back to the State Championship Court,” Courtney said. Please officially welcome Chayse to the State Rankings.  She is currently ranked as the 5^th best overall player and top opposite according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She plays for Archbishop Mitty High School and also for the Vision volleyball club program.  Miss Courtney is a true point scorer and this is impressive because she is doing it at the highest level possible while playing up in an older age group.  This young lady is special and she is able to play on either pin and light up the stat book and scoreboard in a hurry.  Her approach touch has to be one of the highest in her grad class from what we can tell and it is due to her explosiveness off of the ground.  She knows how to create amazing momentum with her approach and uses her arms well to help propel her up in the air.  When she makes contact with the ball, it goes down in a hurry due to her lightning quick downward arm swing.  I love how athletically gifted she is and she shows it when the ball is slightly out of system and it doesn’t give her a lot of time to run a full approach.  She has the unique ability to jump off of her last two steps only and still get sky high in the air.  We love everything about this youngster’s game.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our prestigious State Rankings.

Even then, her poise and competitive spirit stood out among her more experienced teammates. Since that debut, Chayse has taken her game to the next level, bringing her vision to life with a vengeance. Her progress has been nothing short of remarkable, as she continues to sharpen her skills and elevate her level of play.

Chayse’s attacks are crisp, clean, and lethal—she knows how to put the ball down with precision and power. Equally dangerous from the back row as the front, she poses a constant threat to opponents no matter where she’s positioned on the court.
