About Clara

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love to play in the sand! I am scrappy defensively and can also swing. My best attribute is my ball control and the ability to take charge defensively on the court. Indoor, I am also able to keep the team on track by setting out of system balls.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I love to play with fire and energy! I also hate to lose and am working on handling that better.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was part of the P1440 Rising Starts class of 2025.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have always been looked to as a team leader and have been voted as team captain multiple times by my teammates. I also coach younger kids at summer camps and completed over 30 hours of community service last year.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want a big college, that is full of school spirit and can offer me the complete college experience! I would also really like to be in a warm climate so I can play beach volleyball.

Another libero who shines in the sand. It appears she has a younger sister Charlotte Hays that is from the class of 2030. Clara recently played in a beach tournament in Texas. She has played in five tournaments with six more planned. She ranks at number 42 nationally for the beach in the class of 2028.

Clara also plays club for Capital Volleyball Club to keep her indoor game intact. This prepares her for the high school season where last year her libero play helped Paul VI win the WCAC conference championship.
