Clara appears to focus on beach during the summer. She plays for Capital Volleyball Club 15. They finished second in the Chesapeake Regional non-bid Championship. That was the last tournament they played in April. After that Clara hit the beach.

She finished in 35th place at the Junior Nationals beach tournament partnering with Paul Vi teammate Coco Lewis Coco Lewis 6'2" | OH VA . She finished in 9th place at the Junior Nationals in Virginia Beach with Avery Fauver Avery Fauver 5'9" | OH Millbrook | 2028 State VA ( Blue Ridge ) as her partner.

This past season Clara followed her mom to play for Paul VI. She led the team in digs averaging 3.4 digs per set. Paul VI ended a six year drought by winning the WCAC championship. Unfortunately, they fell short in the VISAA state championship, losing to Flint Hill in the finals.

Kayla R Tutoni Kayla R Tutoni 5'3" | DS/L St. Paul VI Catholic | 2029 State VA will be transferring to Paul Vi. That will improve the Panthers back row significantly. However, Clara has been working on her outside hitting. This could free up Tutoni to play libero. Louise Neuhart Louise Neuhart 6'0" | OH St. Paul VI Catholic | 2027 State VA is not available to play this coming season opening up an outside spot.

Another libero who shines in the sand. It appears she has a younger sister Charlotte Hays that is from the class of 2030. Clara recently played in a beach tournament in Texas. She has played in five tournaments with six more planned. She ranks at number 42 nationally for the beach in the class of 2028.

Clara also plays club for Capital Volleyball Club to keep her indoor game intact. This prepares her for the high school season where last year her libero play helped Paul VI win the WCAC conference championship.

I was watching Virginia Elite do battle with Capital Volleyball Club . Virginia Elite eventually won in three winning the third set 15-9. That # 12 CVBC certainly impressed me with her libero play. She was all over the place making plays on defense.

She led the Panthers in digs while acting as a rock on serve receive. One of the reasons Paul VI went from mediocre to top of the class.
