Miss Clewis has moved her up in the State Rankings in this update. She is now currently ranked as the 16th best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays volleyball for West Ranch High School and also plays for the Legacy volleyball club program. Widely regarded as one of the most athletic setters in the nation in her grad class, Daniele has earned numerous awards this year as she has been one of the main catalysts for her high school squad’s winning ways. When you have a setter who can “better the ball” in any out of system situation, it makes your job so much easier on the court. Her hitters won’t have to panic and worry about adjusting their footwork or timing, because they know that she will deliver the ball on a “tee” for them to swing at 100% power with confidence. People say that a great setter can make any hitter look good and that is exactly what I see when I watch Miss Clewis perform. The Gonzaga commit is having a phenomenal senior season and we chose to reward her hard work. Please help us congratulate her on moving up in our prestigious State Rankings.

Dani has made a huge jump in the State Rankings in this update. She is now currently ranked as the 21st best overall player and top setter according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays volleyball for West Ranch High School and also plays for the Legacy volleyball club program. Miss Clewis is one of the most athletic setters in her grad class and throughout all of my research watching hours and hours of footage, I will stand by that statement. She has everything you would want in a volleyball player. I have seen her do some jaw-dropping things on a volleyball court and whichever college picks her up on their roster will be in for a treat each time she steps on the court for them. Equipped with exceptionally fast footwork and an explosive bounce to get off of the ground quickly, Dani is able to attack like six-foot primary attackers and can run down any errant pass with ease. I think that she can be a game-changer for one lucky program who gives her a shot. This young phenom is shining bright. Please help us congratulate her on moving up in our prestigious State Rankings.

Dani Clewis (Class of 2026) is a setter for Legacy Volleyball Club and West Ranch High School, known for her leadership, competitive drive, and ability to elevate the play of those around her. Throughout her club career, she has consistently played up, taking on the challenge of competing with and leading older, more experienced teams.
As one of the younger players, stepping into a leadership role as a setter was daunting at first. Clewis felt the pressure to direct the offense and guide her team, often composed of athletes two or three years older. Initially, she struggled with the idea of leading players who had more experience, fearing it might come off as overstepping. But over time, she recognized that every teammate, regardless of age, shared the same goal: to compete and win. Once that mindset clicked, her confidence as a leader grew, and she embraced her role fully.
Adjusting to the faster pace of older age groups, especially when she was just 14 playing with 17s, was another major hurdle. But Clewis adapted quickly. The challenge pushed her to improve her skills, decision-making, and mental toughness. She credits the experience with helping her develop a strong “next ball mentality,” a key part of her growth as a setter and competitor. Learning to move past mistakes and refocus quickly has strengthened her ability to lead in high-pressure moments.
Playing up has not only shaped her skills but also her identity as a teammate. Clewis brings positive energy to the court, constantly encouraging others and building connections that foster trust and team chemistry. She wants college coaches to know that choosing to play up was an intentional decision made with her coaches to push her development. Competing with high-level, fast-paced teams has helped her evolve into a confident leader and adaptable playmaker, qualities she’s ready to carry into the next level of her volleyball journey.

is undeniably one of the most talented setters I have ever seen on the circuit, and every time she steps onto the court, she leaves spectators in awe. Watching her play is an exhilarating experience; her highlight reels are packed with dynamic sets that not only showcase her impressive athleticism but also her exceptional court vision and decision-making. Dani has an innate ability to read the game, delivering pinpoint sets that elevate her teammates’ performances and create thrilling plays. With each match, she proves just how crucial a skilled setter is to a team’s success. While I typically advocate against athletes committing too early, any college program would be wise to snatch her up quickly, as she is a true powerhouse in every sense of the word. Whichever college Dani ultimately chooses will be gaining an extraordinary athlete who possesses not only the technical skills but also the competitive spirit to excel at the next level. Prepare to be wowed—Dani is a true rising star in the world of volleyball! ~ Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig
