: Social Media Star of the Week
💡 Game You’re Proud Of
Right now, I am especially proud of the way that I am able to contribute to my team in other ways than attacking. Attacking is always going to come and is always important, but my focus on defense and passing has been what I have seen the most progress in lately. Challenging myself against good attackers and tough serves every day in practice allows me to constantly be polishing these skills.📲 Why This Post Mattered
Having features in PrepDig articles and being consistent with social media has really helped me get exposure. I am able to display my skills to coaches and also express myself and my journey. I am grateful to have social media to help me with my recruiting process because it allows me to connect with so many and also document my own journey and progress.🧠 What Coaches Should Know
Something I think is important for college coaches to know about me off the court is that I am very creative and love to try new things. Whether it’s trying a new coffee shop with friends, new recipes to cook for my family, or just a new project to focus on, I am always looking to extend myself and be creative. I believe this also translates to my court play. I am never afraid to try something new in practice and possibly fail at first. I view it as a chance for me to push myself, be creative, and find a way to grow and learn something new.

managed her role with a ball-control lens, prioritizing serve receive stability and defensive consistency to support offensive rhythm. By delivering steady passing, she enabled system flow and created cleaner attacking opportunities for her team, reinforcing her all-around value beyond primary scoring.
Her current development emphasis is refining attacking timing, particularly in out-of-system scenarios, to improve shot selection and efficiency at higher levels. Off the court, Kobe recently earned her driver’s license and enjoys outdoor activities with her family, reflecting independence and balance beyond the game.

delivered a superstar performance with 24 kills and 10 digs. Kobe absolutely dominated, swinging high and with purpose while showcasing control and versatility. She was an ace server at the line, and from the back row she attacked with intention and confidence. Defensively, her disciplined footwork and steady platform allowed her to read plays effectively. At the net, she delivered powerful swings that often avoided the block entirely, solidifying her as one of the most dynamic middle blockers on the floor.
Devyn’s Voice
“Something important that I learned from Saturday’s match is actually something that our coach has been telling us for a while, and it’s that your skill is not always going to be perfect or how you want it to be. In those times, it’s especially crucial that you’re communicating, talking, and cheering on your teammates. When you do those things, your skills eventually come, and your attitude is essentially the only thing you can control, so you need to take full advantage of it.
Some things that I’d want college coaches to know about me as an athlete are that this season I’ve really been working on my defense and passing. I’m always working on attacking, but I think defense and serve receive are so important because you can’t attack without a good pass. Improving my passing has been a big focus this year.”
State Run:
Devyn will continue her postseason journey on Tuesday, November 11, when West Ranch faces Redlands in a neutral-site matchup in the opening round of the 2025 CIF State Girls Volleyball Championships (Division I). The match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.

, a 6’1” outside and opposite hitter from West Ranch High School (Valencia), is producing at an elite level this high school season. She’s hitting an impressive .400 with 235 kills on 443 attempts, averaging 4.3 kills per set while keeping errors to just 58. That kind of efficiency reflects not only her physicality and 10’1.5” touch but also her ability to manage swings, find seams, and terminate cleanly against top competition. Her combination of power, shot control, and decision-making gives West Ranch a terminal option capable of changing the rhythm of a match.
Beyond her numbers, Kobe plays with confidence and maturity that sets her apart. She has made a club change and will be competing for City 17 Gold. Her ability to score from multiple rotations, stay aggressive under pressure, and lead by example makes her a high-upside prospect college coaches will want to track early.

Devyn values feedback, plays with purpose, and adds to team chemistry on and off the court. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

, volleyball has been a central part of her life for the past six years. Encouraged by her mother, who also played in high school and college, Devyn quickly fell in love with the sport and has been driven to succeed ever since. The jump from middle school to high school volleyball has been a significant adjustment, particularly with the increased practice schedule, but Devyn is eager to see the progress she and her team will make.
Devyn’s powerful attacking and blocking abilities, combined with her supportive and coachable attitude, were key factors in earning her a spot on the varsity team. Weight training has also played a crucial role in helping her become a more explosive player, further enhancing her vertical jump.
Devyn is focused on staying organized and on top of her schoolwork to ensure she maintains the grades necessary to continue playing sports. Her primary goal for the season is to win the league, a challenging but achievable target with the talent and determination she brings to the team.
In her own words, ” I want to give a shoutout to all my upperclassmen high school teammates who I also have on my club team. I have known most of the girls for a few years now so it was nice to know people going into a new school! They have all willingly given me advice not only about volleyball but about high school in general. They have all made me feel so welcome!”

Devyn stood out immediately during early warmups and drills. Her powerful swing and knack for finding gaps in the defense commanded attention. She was one of the hardest hitters in the gym and adapted well to any set given to her. She also showcased solid passing skills in the back row, excelling in both serve receive and defense. During team games, she consistently delivered, keeping the overall team energy high. It’s no surprise, but still a remarkable achievement, that Devyn made the varsity team as a freshman.
Devyn will be attending West Ranch High School.
