Now for the young buck!

May is a freshman and is already making an impact at the net. At 6’3″, she brings serious length and plenty of potential. More importantly, she is adjusting to high school volleyball impressively well. May already has 33 blocks this season. That’s an exciting start for a player just beginning her high school career.

Additionally, she is showing plenty of willingness to learn. Her ability to move and stay involved at the net says a lot about her coachability. As she continues getting comfortable with the speed of high school volleyball, her timing and confidence should only continue to develop.

And that’s the fun part- she’s just getting started!

May is already turning heads at 6’3″ as a member of the Class of 2030. However, it is not just her height that makes her interesting. She has a heavy arm and can attack with the kind of power that is hard to find at such a young age. She is already showing the makings of a strong middle and attacks with confidence beyond her years. There is still plenty of room for her to grow into that power, and once everything continues to click, opposing defenses are going to have a lot to deal with.

Ellie May plays well beyond her years and continues to emerge as an exciting middle blocker with a high energy presence on the court. May brings diverse offensive shots and continues to improve her transition speed and quickness out to the pins, making her increasingly difficult for opposing defenses. She is also one of the hardest workers on the court, consistently putting herself in the right position to make an impact. Defensively, May takes up significant space at the net and does an excellent job getting touches and slowing down hard driven attacks.
