About Emily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very vocal, detail-oriented player. These are strong qualities I have because they set me apart from other DSs. I also have great court-awareness and I never do anything without an intention. I am aggressive in my gameplay in both defense and serve receive. I am a consistent server which gives my team opportunities in situations where the score isn't how we want it.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am mentally tough. I have a firm next-ball mentality while still being able to learn from my mistakes. I am a friendly person who can get along with anyone. I love meeting new girls through the sport and continuing my relationships with them outside of volleyball. I have been told by my teammates in the past that I'm someone they can rely on when they are struggling.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

During my 8th-grade year at Riverside Junior High, I received student of the month twice. I also was a peer tutor for both semesters of my 8th-grade year and I plan on peer tutoring more in highschool. As a freshmen, I have participated in best buddies. I was on the summa cum laude list my freshmen year for having a 4.7 GPA.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Over the years, I have become not only a better player but a better person. I've gained strong leadership. I've been a captain on every school team I've ever been on. I love helping others and encouraging them to work as hard as they can.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a great nursing program that would also allow me to continue playing the sport I love. I want to be challenged athletically and academically.
