Brinker has developed a quicker arm swing and rhythm during club season. That leaves blockers less time to swing her way and try to deny balls from coming across the net. That should help take the load off teammates at Rowan County in the fall. Brinker also affects things at the net with her timely jumps. Brinker played all six positions over the weekend as the result of injuries for 55 Elite. Brinker’s passing will only improve as a result of that experience.

Brinker is a difference-maker in the front row for the Valkyries. Brinker has sound mechanics and a quick arm swing combined with sound court vision to send balls screaming to the floor. Brinker has good timing on her blocks, at least getting hands on balls to slow them down for the defensive specialists. Brinker also covers at the net well. Brinker had 114 kills in the fall, helping Rowan County go 27-7, win a second straight 61st District crown and drive to the 16th Region title game for the first time since 2020.

Brinker (pictured) does a good job placing balls on short sets, including ones and back sets. Brinker hits balls off blocker or to different parts of the court on both sets. Brinker also provides a lot with blocking for Rowan County. A quicker arm swing could help Brinker go to the next level.

Eva is a developing athlete with tons of potential. She has excellent text book mechanics, a fast swing and excellent court IQ making some stealthy plays on the front line. She is making it happen for herself on the court with a honed swing coming from a well timed attack with excellent vertical and good ball control producing well placed hits! She has excellent footwork in her attack to create her lofty vertical with a smooth swing and wrist snap, engaging her core to produce that effective downward trajectory and is fluid in her motions. She can get up for the block with good timing and displays great coverage for her teammates on the front line. She is one to keeps tabs on her journey which no doubt will be successful!

Brinker has taken some steps in that direction with some nice swings. She forms nice double blocks at the net to help out the defensive specialists. She runs good fakes in the middle on outside sets to draw attention from opposing blockers and makes nice out of system passes. It’s a matter of developing consistency. Brinker said to do that she’s been putting in hard work in the weight room and in practices.
