to the State Ranking List. We have her currently listed as the fifth best player in the 2029 class. She is a 5’9″ six rotation left side attacker who plays at Lone Star High School and also for
Texas Advantage
Volleyball Club. Peyton, also known as “Big Play Pey,” is magical on the pins. She is the real deal who can sky above the net from the front row or attack from the back row with equal danger. What makes her game special is that she is not only dynamic while attacking but also plays outstanding defense and can truly help a team keep the ball alive. She will do whatever it takes to help her team stay competitive and although she may be slightly undersized for the position compared to others, do not sleep on this killer because if you do she will make you pay in a hurry. We have written about her electric vertical jump and lightning quick arm swing before and every word used to describe it has been warranted. This young lady is a phenom and should receive a tremendous amount of attention from college programs that want a truly lethal point scorer. We believe she has not even come close to her full potential yet as she is just getting started. Please help us congratulate her on being named one of the top players in the 2029 grad class.

Peyton is an explosive athlete who plays with intensity on every point. I like her aggressiveness as an attacker and her ability to adjust in the air. Defensively, she covers a lot of ground and brings a high motor that shows up throughout the match. Her athleticism paired with her competitive mindset gives her strong long-term potential as she continues to refine her game.

Miss Robinson is currently an unranked prospect in the 2029 class according to our Texas State Rankings but that is only because we have not released them yet. It is not a matter of if she will be listed, but rather how high up will she be based on what I saw from her play at the showcase. She plays volleyball at Prestonwood Christian School and also for the Texas Advantage volleyball club. Some players just have that “It Factor” on and off of the court and Peyton has it in abundance. There is nothing that she cannot do well in the game of volleyball and that can be attributed to man factors. One of those factors is that she plays beach volleyball and it has really helped her overall game grow since it requires ultimate ball control in every aspect. She jumps out of the gym and has a lightning quick arm swing during her attack approach. Her feet are very bouncy off of the ground and it adds so much speed to everything she does. In the back row, her serve receive and defense can be described as elite to say the least. She has excellent posture during defense and it helps her to move quickly to the ball as she digs to her side. We were extremely impressed with how she played the game and especially how players responded to her leadership style. She is definitely someone to watch and showcased her self very well this weekend. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award at our showcase.

Miss Robinson is currently an unranked prospect in the 2029 class according to our Texas State Rankings but that is only because we have not released them yet. Anyone nicknamed “Big Play Pey” will attract some attention to her game and so far from what I see, she can back it up! It will be very fun to watch her compete against some of the freshmen who are signed up at the showcase. I will make sure that I am watching for some key technical aspects of each skill set so that I can determine where she falls on the rankings. What I love so far about her is how she uses outdoor volleyball during her indoor skills. Because she plays sand, you can see how she can really do it all on the court at such a young age. This kind of ball control is rarely seen at such a young age, but Pey makes it look very easy. On the offensive end, her highlights look astounding, but I am even more impressed with her defensive game and cannot wait to report back on what I see in person.

I was invited to attend Nebraska’s Dream Team Camp. I was unaware it existed until my invite. The promise was to provide insight into the day of a D1 player, allow athletes to see how Cornhuskers train, and play with top athletes from across the country. I am 13 years old, and my camp exposure is limited. I have participated in Under Armour Next Middle School Camp, Georgia Tech’s Camp, No EZY Bucket’s Libero Skills Camp, A5’s College Showcase, and Exact Camp College Showcase. My goal with Nebraska’s Dream Team Camp was to see what it is like to actually train like a D1 athlete. I wanted to play with top players from across the country and hopefully learn new skill sets or improve my current skills. Nebraska’s Dream Team Camp did not disappoint. Hands down, it was one of the most technical, efficiently run camps I have attended yet. The roster of talent—from across the country—was impressive. High-level play. Nebraska did its homework.
Coach John Cook was hands-on, involved in every stage of the camp. He provided instruction, along with Cornhusker players. It was really cool to get instruction from Coach Jaylen Reyes, Lexi Rodriguez, Harper Murray, and the rest of the team. We started at 8:30 a.m. and did not finish until 6 p.m. I learned some important pillars that many club players may not fully grasp. I am an outside hitter. Hitting is important, but if you cannot pass, you do not play at the collegiate level. We spent 40 percent of each day on passing, defense, serving, and setting drills. What I got from Nebraska’s Camp is that no matter what position you play, if you get second touch, can you set? If you get first touch, can you pass? If you are the first to serve, can you dominate and score points from the serve? Anyone coming to this camp who can only play one position well will struggle. The game is calling for multi-dimensional players: passing first, serving second, setting third. Defense wins championships. Nebraska trains beasts.
I am just starting to aggressively use my top-spin serve. It is not always done right. I have been insecure when I fail in front of others, but I decided going into this camp that I came to learn, not to focus on things I already do well. The coaching staff was super supportive when I did my first top-spin serve. Cornhusker players started top-spinning with me and called me “Big Girl Serve.” Coach Reyes showed me where I could improve, and even when I served out or hit someone in the back of the head (yikes, sorry lol), he kept encouraging me to try. He gave me the courage and boldness to not be afraid to grow. That is why I came. I wanted to be uncomfortable and grow, and I did.
With my limited camp experience, all I can say is Nebraska’s Dream Team Camp is for serious ballers. Your weaknesses will get exposed. Top players, many of them in high school, are hoping to get on the college’s radar. They come to ball out. You have to have a fundamental understanding of the game: passing, serving, defense, blocking, setting, rotations. Are you willing to confront that and ask for help on how to improve? If not, the open camp might be a better experience. Serious ballers apply, and no, you don’t have to be perfect, but you have to have the maturity to take feedback. Nebraska gives it freely and often. I loved it!
I plan to follow up with each college coach with a personal email. I have already tagged players on social media in videos I have with them. I don’t want to become a nuisance, but I do want them to know I am grateful for their time and the knowledge they shared. I am most definitely sending each coach my upcoming 14U schedule, hoping they’ll be interested in following my journey. I am inspired and realize D1 volleyball is a sacrifice. I want it!
