About Evelyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe myself as a versatile and cerebral player. I run a quick offense and make smart decisions on the court. I would survey the other team to try to identify their weakness. I would then try to confuse the blockers by sometimes set against the flow. I have sound volleyball fundamentals, which enables me to set/block in a 5-1 as well as dig balls in a 6-2.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

On the court, I am extremely focused. Whether it is an actual game or practice, I play hard regardless of the score. I also play with confidence. Off the court, my friends would describe me as kind, honest and funny.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was awarded First Academic Honors for the first 2 years of high school. I also participated in the Anti-Cancer Challenge sponsored by UCI. I am a member of the California Scholarship Federation (Honor Society). I am a member of the Student Ambassador Program, Catholic Relief Services, and Rising Above Disabilities Club.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to attend a college with a strong medicine program as I am interested in biology and sports medicine. I also would like the school to be a close-knit community with rich traditions and diversity. And finally, I hope I would make it onto the school volleyball team so I can improve and showcase my skills.
