Herrick had quite a return to the championship stage. We were amazed with her November production last year when she led Amherst to a surprising semifinal berth. The Broncos went one step further to the title match while Herrick built on a swan song season with over 300 kills.

Herrick is one of several representatives of reclassifying teams on this list. Amherst is making the move to Class D1 this year, but that shouldn’t stop Herrick from remaining of the leading scorers in her class. She’s been making that kind of impact since her career began and can be a proficient terminator in a few different positions.

Herrick is an unstoppable force who has proven she can lead Amherst all the way to the state tournament. She has now posted two consecutive 400-kill seasons with the Broncos and is averaging around a .300 hitting percentage over that time. Five kills per set would not be a surprising number for Herrick in her swan song season with Amherst.

There’s no way we could leave Herrick out of this feature after everything she accomplished with Amherst this fall. The Broncos broke through to the semifinal round of the state tournament behind Herrick’s 400-kill onslaught in her junior year. She can hit in the middle, on the outside, and do just about anything else you could ask from a six-rotation standout.
