Fahl was the engine for SWMNVB all weekend. She is your prototypical primary attacker with a “big swing” and a high volleyball IQ. She excelled at scoring off high-hands and showed a lethal line shot. What makes her even more dangerous is her variety from the end line, alternating between a clipper on the tape and a deep flat float.

I hadn’t seen Fahl play in person before this tournament and whoa, is she impressive. Playing up two age levels, she competes with skill and confidence well beyond a sophomore. She showcases a strong vertical and a fast, explosive arm swing that allows her to score consistently and play above the net. She is also strong in serve receive and defense. Her athleticism, energy, and competitiveness make her extremely fun to watch and difficult to contain. Given the training environment and high level of competition she is currently facing, her ceiling is very high, and she is only going to keep getting better and better. The sky is the limit for this player and we can’t wait to see where she goes.

At the net, she plays with high volleyball IQ—seeing the block early, using hands, and attacking seams instead of forcing low-percentage swings. In the back row, she is aggressive and confident, handling serve receive pressure and extending rallies with controlled digs. Julia competes on every touch and understands how to impact a match beyond just kills. This Fahl executed some perfectly timed swings down the line early in the match. She also had some really well-timed attacks throughout the match, along with accurate sniper-like serving. Fahl contributed 9 kills, 7 digs, and 3 aces in the effort.

Julia Fahl Julia Fahl 5'10" | OH/DS/L/DS/L State MN is a freshman at Marshall High School where she is playing up an age division on the SWMNVB 16s squad who were final four finishers this past weekend.  I’ve mentioned before Marshall is a state power house in Minnesota and Fahl is next in line to be one of their key athletes.  The outside hitter knows how to score points.  She is terminal from the pin and plays with a fire.  She was consistently producing for her side of the net all weekend.
