comes in as North Dakota’s No. 2 setter and brings a steady, confident presence to the position. She delivers a consistent ball and does a good job keeping hitters in rhythm, even when the pass isn’t perfect. I see her adjust quickly to the ball, square up, and put up a set that allows her hitters to stay aggressive.
She plays with purpose and understands how to keep the offense connected without forcing plays. There’s reliability in how she runs the floor, and she continues to make the right decisions in the moment. At NCR RTDP, expect her to compete, stay steady, and show she can handle the pace of this group.

continues to rise as one of the top setters in the state. Already on multiple college visits, Heidt has drawn steady attention from programs that value her size, poise, and command of an offense. A selection and participant in the NCR RTDP, she continues to prove she belongs among the region’s top setting prospects.
At the high school level, Heidt ran a true all-around offense with control and confidence. She uses her height and court vision to deliver clean, consistent hands while managing tempo and match flow. Julia distributes effectively across all zones, creates one-on-one matchups, and stretches defenses with her back set and cross-court release. She stays composed off the net, keeps hitters in rhythm, and consistently makes the right decision in transition.
Her feel for the game continues to separate her. Heidt reads blockers early, anticipates defensive movement, and leads with communication and presence. Through club season, she has continued refining her tempo control against high-level competition.
From a projection standpoint, Heidt profiles as a collegiate setter who can run an efficient offense and grow into a strong floor leader at the next level. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

commanded the floor with confidence. She squared early, delivered a quick release, and did an excellent job disguising her intentions. Her ability to hold blockers with her eyes before pushing the ball wide created one-on-one opportunities for her hitters. Julia also showed strong instincts in transition, taking control of chaotic plays and turning them into structured offense. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas
Going into Day 2: Look for Julia to continue manipulating the block and possibly increase her tempo to the pins as competition intensifies.

Heidt’s composure stood out when plays broke down. Even with imperfect passes, she found ways to deliver hittable balls and keep the offense moving. Her ability to read the floor and adjust on the fly helped her team stay organized and competitive through longer rallies.

Heidt runs a fast offense. She does a great job of seeing her hitters and maintaining a neutral hand position to deceive blockers, all while releasing the ball quickly to beat the defense.

Session 2 showed us some players who were feeling more comfortable in the showcase atmosphere. Heidt first caught my attention with her height, and she was doing a great job of seeing her hitters. She was trying to stay consistent but also make adjustments for her hitters to find more success. When she sealed the deal for me, is when her court was low on middles, so she stepped right in and went to work as a middle. That kind of selfless approach will always win you points with coaches. She worked well with attackers to find their optimal set and was quick to celebrate those around her finding success. Congratulations to Heidt for a showing at the Prep Dig Minnesota Exposure Tour!

is ranked #10 in North Dakota’s 2027 class, earning recognition as the #2 setter in the state. Julia has consistently proven herself to be a workhorse at the setter position, never settling and always pushing her game forward. She was selected to the NCR Regional Training and Development Program and further sharpened her craft at Sports Performance Volleyball Training, where her high-level reps and coaching exposure elevated her setting game even more.
Julia’s skill set makes her a true six-rotation setter with excellent hands, advanced decision-making, and a high volleyball IQ. She sees the court with poise, runs an efficient tempo, and has the ability to spread the offense to keep blockers guessing.
Off the court, Julia has already been busy with unofficial visits and coach conversations, and it’s clear she’s positioning herself as a top priority for programs seeking a floor general who leads with energy, vision, and relentless competitiveness. Julia is currently uncommitted, and any coach seeking a setter who can command an offense while elevating the play of everyone around her should have her on their radar.

Why do you want to play college volleyball?
~I want to play college volleyball because I thrive in high-level competition and love the game. Volleyball has shaped me through teamwork, discipline, and growth. It’s also a way to build lifelong connections and meet people from different backgrounds. Most of all, I want to be a role model—proving that even from a small town, with hard work and passion, you can achieve big goals.
What does your training schedule look like in-season and off-season?
~During the season, I practice at 4:30 PM, including weights and speed/agility three times a week. I aim for a private lesson or gym session every two weeks and spend at least 15 minutes daily on technique, either solo or with a partner. Before tournaments, I keep it light with focused technique work.
In the offseason, I train from 5:45 to 7:30 AM daily and attend college or skills camps about once a week. I also do private lessons every two weeks and get extra reps with teammates when possible. Alone, I focus on position-specific skills; with others, I work on all-around gameplay.
How do you balance school, sports, and your personal life?
~Balancing volleyball, school, and life takes real commitment—especially with a two-hour drive to practice three times a week. I stay grounded through my faith in God and prioritize what matters most. Time management and organization are key, whether it’s early choir, after-school makeup work, clubs, or a job. I’ve learned to make sacrifices but also schedule time to recharge and avoid burnout. It’s not easy, but when you love the game and stay dedicated, you find a way to make it all work.
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
~I bring versatility, mental toughness, and coachability to every game. I adapt well, stay composed under pressure, and lead with empathy and positivity. I’m driven to win, open to learning from opponents, and hold myself accountable. While I work hard, I’m learning to balance that drive with taking time for myself outside of volleyball.
What are your academic interests or intended major?
~I intend to go the pre-med route with a focus in animal science.
