About Kailen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style in volleyball I think is both strategic and supportive. As a middle blocker my focus is on reading the opponent’s hitters to set up effective blocks and create scoring opportunities for my team. I also aim to be versatile, contributing both offensively with quick attacks and defensively with solid blocks.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to be supportive and and a reliable presence on the court. I always focus on having a positive attitude, encouraging my teammates, and staying calm under pressure. Building trust and making everyone feel comfortable is what I try to do as having a confident team can overcome challenges more effectively.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of Jack and Jill of America which is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2 to 19, dedicated to nurturing future Leaders by supporting children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty. Jack and Jill is divided into 271 local chapters within 7 geographical regions in the United States.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through Jack and Jill of America I have performed service hours helping with various organizations and in grammar school I was part of the debate team which has helped me tremendously gain various skills and qualities that translate to success on the volleyball court.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is inspiring and will make me prepare for life after and be successful in life. Volleyball isn't the end all be all for me, but I want to go to a school that will prepare me for the challenges of the world. I also want to go to a school that balances academics and athletics.
