Lauren Garcia Lauren Garcia 5'10" | S Reagan | 2027 State #101 Nation TX delivered a high-level performance at the 210 Countdown City Classic, earning Top Performer recognition while helping guide Austin Performance to a second-place finish. Ranked No. 88 nationally and No. 18 in Texas by Prep Dig, Garcia showed why she is regarded as one of the premier setters in her class. She operated as a silky-smooth distributor, consistently keeping the offense in rhythm and ensuring every hitter remained a threat. From a tactical standpoint, her ability to balance her squad’s high-powered attack prevented opposing defenses from cheating toward any single option, forcing blockers to stay honest until the moment of release. Garcia’s decision-making stood out, as she read matchups well and adjusted tempo and location to maximize efficiency across all rotations. Her high volleyball IQ was evident in how she managed momentum and controlled stretches of play under pressure. Paired with her tall, strong frame and physical presence at the net, it’s easy to see why the Louisiana Tech commit continues to separate herself as a top-tier setter on the national stage.

Lauren is a very polished and cerebral setter in the Texas Class of 2027 who excels at managing tempo and making smart, consistent decisions on the court. At 5’10”, she combines solid size with clean mechanics, allowing her to deliver accurate sets across all attack lanes. She has always demonstrated advanced footwork and hand placement for her age, keeping hitters in rhythm and maintaining offensive efficiency even under pressure ever since she burst onto the scene during her freshman season. She competes actively in transition, adjusting quickly to off-system opportunities and maximizing scoring chances. Defensively, Garcia shows awareness and energy, contributing to serve-receive and floor coverage while maintaining her leadership presence. Her communication and competitive drive make her a stabilizing force for teammates. Recently she chose to play college volleyball at Louisiana Tech University.  We know that she will be a game changer for their program from the moment she steps on their campus.  We are going to love following her until then. 

One of the top setters in the state in her age group, Garcia will play for AP 16 Adidas in the 16 Open division. She joined the team this season, coming from Alamo, and her setting ability and intelligent distribution have taken AP to another level, making their offensive way more dangerous and efficient. Garcia can be elusive with her sets and that split-second opposing blockers take to figure out where the ball is going is often what her hitters need to put it down. Very technical and intelligent, she can also contribute at the net with both her offense and her blocking, helping the team in different ways.

Garcia was one of the standouts in the AP 16 Adidas team that finished first in the division with five wins and one loss. Playing a dual-role as a setter and right side hitter, she used her amazing technical skills to make a difference for her team. Garcia used her size very well on offense but what made of her an elite scorer was her vision and her ability to send her swings into perfect spots. She also contributed to the team’s serve-receive system, displaying excellent ball control, and was very efficient with her setting.
