With LeRoux calling the shots, TAV Houston 17 Adidas triumphed in three of their eight matches to rank fifth in the 17 Open division. The tall setter was extremely good with her playmaking, making her team play at a fast pace when in system, but keeping her precision steady. LeRoux was also very intelligent and effective with her distribution, sharing the ball among her hitters and keeping every option open. She also made an impact from the service line, serving well and generating points and easy transition plays.

One of a handful of new faces who joined Fort Bend Christian Academy this season, LeRoux will have a key role with the Eagles, leading their offense. LeRoux is tall, very technical and smart on the court and improved a lot on the mental side of her game lately, adding ‘consistent’ to the list of her qualities. She also had good size and can play at the net too.

LeRoux’s incredible potential is among the worst-kept secrets in the volleyball scene in the Houston area and it feels like this club season she’s making a lot of steps towards reaching it with her TAV Houston 16 Adidas team that will be in action in the 16 USA division. Although there’s been obvious progress in her technical skill, the area of her game that improved the most was her mental strength as the setter has been more consistent and effective on the court. LeRoux is really skilled on the ball and is now also making much better decisions with her distribution. Her six-foot frame is also a big plus as she can be aa factor at the net, blocking and even hitting at a high level.

It had been a while since I had last watched LeRoux play and it was great to see how much progress she’s made since then. The talent has always been there for her and she always stood out for her size, but there was something different (for the better) in her game during the Top 250 Expo. Her release was really clean and the ball would leave her hands with little or no spin at all during drills, indicating she’s worked a lot on it. She always seemed more mature, displaying a calmer demeanor on the court and making good decisions in the scrimmage-like drills.
