The Paramount 14 team won the American Division at Junior Nationals. Liana Lipscomb Liana Lipscomb 6'0" | MB Forest Park | 2030 VA was named to the all tournament team. She and Pia Pardikar Pia Pardikar 5'11" | MB/RS Sky View (Virginia) | 2030 VA dominated in the middle. Pia will play for the new school Sky View while Liana will play for Forest Park. Liana also won a top performer award in a Prep Dig Showcase this year.

Last year Forest Park finished a disappointing third place in the Cardinal District. In previous years they have finished in second place, always behind Colgan, who has won nine straight Cardinal District titles. This year they should get some competition from Woodbridge and Forest Park.

The Bruins lost their top middle Emerson O’Connor who led the team in blocking while finishing second in kills. Liana should slot in her spot to make an immediate impact.

Liana was the other middle for Paramount Jaz who won the American Division championship at Junior Nationals. She was one of three players named to the all tournament team for their contribution to that championship. At the frosh showcase she clearly stood out as one of the top middles in the group.

At the Junior Nationals she showed the ability to deliver on a number of clutch spikes to lead the team to many critical late set victories. An approach jump that falls just short of 10 feet allows her to play above the competition.

Next year she will attend Forest Park. My prediction is that she will make the team as a frosh. With her playing middle Colgan will have a tough time repeating as Cardinal District champions.

Liana was the other solid middle for Paramount 14. At 5’11” she brought good height to the position. She also was very clutch at her position, normally getting most of the sets when the game was on the line. She not only earned a spot on the DMV Prep Dig All Tournament team, but she also appeared on the Junior National All tournament team by USAV as well.

Liana will play for Forest Park this coming high school season. It would not surprise me to see her as a starter on the varsity her frosh season.

At 5’11” Liana fills the middle position for Paramount 14 Jazz. Normally, players at her height at 14 are still struggling with their movement. Not so for Liana. In fact, she has by far the highest approach jump on the team at 9’10”.

When the games get tight it appears Liana is the go to person for the kill. She also can play right side. Always clutch when the game is on the line.

Liana appears bound for Forest Park high school. Her smooth, quick athletic movements on the court could be attributed to her early participation in numerous other sports. Now, she appears focused on volleyball.
