Frosh Making a Huge Impact for their High School Teams
In this article:
Below are some of the frosh contributing to the success of their high school seasons. Unfortunately, the names are limited to players whose coaches contribute statistical information into Max Preps. There are probably many more out there. Below are some of my favorites. Back in August Prep Dig predicted six frosh who would make an impact on their high school season. All six have made significant contributions.
Last year Macie Murray Macie Murray 5'11" | OH Bishop O'Connell | 2027 State VA won the MVP in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC). Macie has picked up her game this year but her opposite on the left side appears to be matching her kill for kill. Nadia ranks eighth in Virginia in kills, first for Bishop O'Connell. Macie is 13th in Virginia in kills, second for the Knights. Easily the top two left side combination in the DMV area, both with hitting percentages over .450.
The duo is leading Bishop O'Connell to an 18-0 record. During that streak they have yet to lose a set. Nadia is a six rotation player and the top ranked player in the class of 2030. In her most recent match against St. Johns, she finished with 25 kills in a three set match.

Gabriella was a teammate of Nadia on the Metro 14 team. She is one of four players on the Metro 14 team to make the list. When Cairo Turner Cairo Turner 6'2" | MB St. Paul VI Catholic | 2028 State VA transferred to Paul VI that opened up a middle spot for Gabriella. The way she can dominate a game a team would invent a role for her.
She is making the most of her frosh season leading the team in blocks as well as hitting percentage at .404. She also sits third on the team in kills, which has helped St. Johns jump out to a 9-2-1 record.
Gabriella ranks at number two in our class of 2030.

A slow start to the season for Forest Park at 2-4 but their 2-1 conference record keeps them poised to appear in the state tournament. One of the players contributing to that success is Liana Lipscomb Liana Lipscomb 6'0" | MB Forest Park | 2030 State VA . She leads her team in kills with an impressive .443 hitting percentage. She also leads the team in blocks.
During the last club season she earned a spot on the all tournament team based on her performance for Paramount achieving a second place finish in the National Division in Junior Nationals. Shortly after that she earned a Prep Dig top performer award. Another player predicted by Prep Dig to make an explosive impact on the high school season as a frosh.
Liana ranks at number four in our class of 2030.

to create a stellar back row. Scarlett also has been contributing to the middle with a .324 hitting percentage while also defending with her blocks. She has good height at 5'10".
Both Scarlett and Brooklyn appear on the watch list but that should only be temporary as they help Grassfield again compete for the Class 6 Virginia state championship.

earned the libero role for East Coast and found a spot in our class of 2029 rankings after earning a top performer award at the Prep Dig showcase in Indianapolis.
However, Preslirose has made the varsity team for Hickory, starting at the libero position. She leads the team in digs while also lining up for serve receive. She is setting a road map to be the top libero in the class of 2030. Currently ranked at number 23 in the class of 2030 she could rise based on her performance at Hickory.

Sofia appears in our watch list for 2030. She set for the Paramount second team last club season.
