I recently wrote on Sampson and try to avoid recent repeats. However, I wanted to include a setter in this article and honestly, she has been the most dynamic setter that I have seen in the past couple of months. And that is saying a lot as I am on volleyball courts EVERY weekend in both small and large venues. This girl has skills. She is quick, has good hands, sets a clean, consistent ball, and isn’t afraid to be bold. She doesn’t just set the easy set instead gets backrow attackers involved and can deliver some crazy reversals that are fascinating to watch.

I swear I think Sampson has grown like 2 inches since I last saw her play earlier in the club season. Regardless of that observation, her game was off the charts this weekend. I was really impressed with her on several fronts. First, Sampson is an aggressive setter that uses her speed to track down balls all over the court. She has great hands that assist with her delivering clean balls to the pins, middle, and backcourt. She did a great job getting all of her hitters involved which spread out the offense and left many defenses in shambles. With her height, speed, aggressiveness, and sharp game IQ, Sampson has the capacity to be a big time recruit in the next couple of years…and I can’t wait to see it all unfold.

Libby is a 2028 setter out of the Cannon Falls area that plays for SMV in Rochester. Cannon Falls has had an excellent volleyball program the last several year in Class 2A and will likely continue for many years to come with upcoming setter Libby Sampson Libby Sampson 5'10" | S/RS Cannon Falls | 2028 State MN ready to take her turn. I watched Sampson play this last weekend and she is a quick, efficient setter. She moves quickly in transition, has great setter hands, and does a good job connecting with her hitters to set them up for success. Sampson is one that we are going to keep tabs on for the next several years.
