Lynley Seyler Lynley Seyler 5'8" | OH Brookland | 2028 AR had herself a week for Brookland(10-1-1). In seven sets, she hammered down 41 kills, averaging an impressive 5.85 kills per set while hitting .331. She also added 6 aces and 32 digs. In a tough matchup against the Harmony Grove Lady Cardinals Seyler dropped 22 kills hitting .278 in a 3-1 win and turned around and had 19 kills hitting .385 in a sweep of Wynn.

Seyler was already a major part of the Brookland offense last season with 326 kills, but she has taken another step this year. She’s scoring at a high rate without sacrificing efficiency, and 41 kills in only seven sets shows just how much the Bearcats are leaning on her offensively.

Lynley isn’t just staying in the front row and swinging, either. The 32 digs and 6 aces are a big part of what made this week stand out. Seyler is producing all over the court, and right now she is making it awfully difficult for defenses to slow her down and the Bearcats down.

She has been pushed by blockers and tested by defenses that kept digging her hits during the first few weeks of play, but she keeps finding a way to come out on top. Seyler has really stepped up following the loss of Hammett. She was already a proven offensive weapon after putting down 326 kills last season, but her game has taken another step forward in 2026. Most notably, she has raised her hitting percentage by 60 points.

Seyler is a precise hitter with a high volleyball IQ. She understands how to beat defenders to spots and does a great job finding the floor. At 5’8″, she may be a little undersized for the pin, but she makes up for it with a strong vertical, quickness and an ability to see the court. She has also taken on a bigger leadership role for the Bearcats. Seyler saved her best two-match stretch of the season for last week, averaging nearly six kills per set while also making a major impact defensively.

At times, it’s hard to tell the two apart. Both are fierce competitors at the net who never shy away from bigger blockers. Seyler relies on her speed, quick arm swing, and athleticism to create scoring opportunities against opposing defenses. She is equally valuable in the back row, finishing second on the team in digs behind Hammett while leading Brookland in serve receive. Seyler is a reliable six-rotation weapon whose explosiveness and leaping ability make her a constant offensive threat. With both she and Hammett rarely leaving the court, Brookland has two players capable of frustrating opponents throughout an entire match.
