Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I think that I have an aggressive approach to playing volleyball. I always try to go after the ball, I always do my best to make the smart choices, but I am not afraid to hit the ball hard if I have to to be able to make a play. I think that I approach the ball on defense and offense with the idea that the ball is mine until someone calls me off.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am definetly a competitive person. I put in my 110% effort to do the best for the team as I possibly can to win. I strive to be a level headed player with a lot of energy to boost up the team. I feel that I am also a player who trys their best to motivate my teammates and build up their confidence.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Yes! Outside of volleyball, I participate in the Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) and the Kentucky United Nations Assembly (KUNA). I am also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at my school. Some of my proudest achievements in school is my secretary role in the new Girl Up OC club as well as becoming a member of the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS).
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have developed my leadership skills through the Girl Up OC club that fosters female leadership skills and unity within the school community. I have also had many leadership opportunities through my church and had leadership roles in Vacation Bible School and Camp Invention. Moreover, teamwork is an instrumental part of every day life for me, whether it be on a school project or on the court.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I think my biggest challenge that I have faced is moving schools. Growing up I had always gone to a very small private Christian school, far away from where I go now. I was the only person who went to my high school and I knew no one, plus I had never gone to a public school before. It was a very daunting time where I had to go far out of my comfort zone to learn about the enviornment I was now in
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that is not too far away from my home town and that has good facilities, a good student life, and good classes, majors, and minors for what I plan on studying. I am also looking for a place that is a good size and has really good academics.
