Charleigh Whitford Charleigh Whitford 5'10" | DS/L/OH Solon | 2028 State IA provides a fun spark for this Iowa Rockets 16R team.  I was able to watch this group in the 16 USA division at MEQ where they went 7-0 the first two days before running into a tough Circle City 16 Black team in bracket play.  Whitford is able to be a six rotation outside hitter where she knows what’s open.  She can hit the deep cross, find the line, or use the block to her advantage.  This team will start the weekend with the seven seed in 16 USA where they will have a chance to get that bid to Indy. 

I’ve scouted Whitford in person a lot this club season. Each time she impressed with her well-rounded skill set. Whitford is probably at her best hitting from the pin, but she’s also quick and reliable in the back row. She compensates for not being as tall as other outside hitters with impressive explosion off of the court and a big vertical leap. With room to add strength, Whitford already generates power with a technically-sound swing. She sees the court well and adjusts to what she reads from the defense as well.
