Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I would describe my gameplay style as very scrappy, going for everything no matter the range because as Morgan Hentz says, "If you never go you'll never know". I also want to, and also want to encourage my teammates to always fight to get a swing on the ball. I agree that sending a free ball over is going to get you that ball slammed right back at you. Also, not watching the ball but the players.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I would describe my mentality or personality on the court as very upbeat and encouraging. Giving a 100% effort in everything I do. I also try to have that next ball mentality, bringing in the positive thoughts and throwing away the negative. Literally everyone is going to make a mistake so making sure I still give that same amount of 100% effort the next play and really important to me.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati (DSAGC) which I volunteer for frequently. My high school coach regularly hosts volleyball games for the kids with down syndrome and we raise money for the organization.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I feel I have developed confidence in my leadership and the ability to not be afraid to take action.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
When I was younger, I really struggled with my anxiety and in my confidence in my ability on the court. This had a negative impact on my development during training and my game play. I really focused on finding ways to manage this and am proud of my ability to work through this stage of my development, I feel like a new player.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that really embraces mental health along with competitive play especially in conference. Somewhere I can make a impact and legacy.
