From west of Indianapolis comes a long, lean and consistent middle that excels on defense and is slowly developing that offensive attack point to match her height. More of an M2 at this time, McKenna’s quick transition and long strides set her apart from other middles at this height that haven’t figured it out yet. I’m more a fan of her comportment—-steady, consistent, reliable, and without flair. She does her job, does it well, and moves on to the next point quickly. Works for me, and it CERTAINLY works for this roster of winners.

With all kinds of length for days, McKenna has a knack for attacking at her highest attack point, while giving opposing blockers fits because of that length. Able to hit heavy enough to tool blocks, but is more skilled at going OVER them, Miss Muncy has all the looks of being an M2 at the next level. I’d like to see a little more space taken up when she’s blocking—both with a close to her pin blocker as well as committing to pressing across the net when blocking. That’s not hard to teach and learn, just as you can’t teach 6’1″. McKenna should definitely fit right in as a plug-and-play middle for whatever program wants her in the fall of ’28.

Muncy really stands out to me as a blocking beast just waiting to come alive. She moves laterally well and has a long reach, allowing her to put up a big block all along the net. Opposing offenses have to set away from the one ball in the middle when Mckenna is front row because she has such a presence up at the net. She is a great M2 in terms of offense, running both the one ball and 31 very efficiently – I don’t recall seeing her get blocked when I watched them play. Muncy can swing in both directions and put a ton of pace on the ball; her cut back shot on the one ball is deadly. I look for them to keep getting this young lady more involved in transition and she will add one more layer to an already potent attack.

Muncy is one of those players who was built to play middle; with long arms that can reach over and around the block when hitting, she is able to hit very efficiently. She especially excelled at hitting cut back on the quick one ball, which she hit near the ten-foot line several times. Her long frame also allows her to put up a solid block, especially against other middles where she can wreak havoc. Lastly, her very calm court presence is a great attribute to have in a teammate when playing at such a young age.
