This list wouldn’t be complete without our top-ranked Kansas 2028, regardless of position. I spend most of my time on the Nebraska circuit, but Lee made a massive impression when her KC Power squad traveled north for an early-season invite at Premier Nebraska. She was the go-to terminator for KC Power and was among the most lethal pipe attackers in the gym. Since then, Lee has reached even bigger milestones at events like the Triple Crown NIT. The upcoming qualifier grind will be fascinating, with the Show Me Qualifier looming large in home territory.

is preparing for Triple Crown with structure, gratitude, and a clear performance plan. She credits the supportive culture at
KC Power
while committing herself to disciplined strength training, intentional recovery methods, and steady mindset development. Her preparation extends beyond the court, incorporating consistent gym work and recovery tools to ensure her body can withstand the demands of multiple high intensity matches.
On the court, Mya is most excited to showcase her serve receive and positive presence. She understands that first contact stability sets the tone for offensive rhythm and that composure in serve receive can anchor an entire rotation. She has also placed a strong emphasis on refining her blocking and off blocker defense, knowing those responsibilities will be tested against high level competition. Her goals reflect balance, bring energy, stay steady, and impact both front row and back row responsibilities with purpose.
Mya’s advice highlights the importance of recovery and preparation. She encourages athletes to prioritize strength training, icing, compression, and consistent recovery habits to maintain performance throughout a demanding weekend. For her, readiness is built through routine, care for the body, and a mindset that values long term development.

Lee is the kind of outside hitter who can terminate even when she doesn’t get a full approach. Her step-close and off-the-floor explosiveness make her a perfect out-of-system option for Power ‘] 16-1’s offense. Better yet, Lee’s squad challenged itself against several elite 17s squads during last weekend’s visit. This allowed Lee to showcase her exceptional physicality and athleticism, even while sparring against older opponents. It’s no wonder that this St. James Academy sophomore is currently our top-ranked prospect in Kansas’ Class of 2028.

Seeing Lee’s name on the leaderboard surprised me. Discovering that she finished with 228 digs and 393 kills in a season is like realizing you got Bacon and Cheese on a double-hamburger when you ordered only mustard and ketchup on it. I expected the high kill totals, but did not know she recorded that many digs. Yay, for bacon! Lee is ranked No. 1 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028.

Spoiler alert: Lee does not need to wait until tomorrow to see if she remains in the No. 1 slot in the rankings. She will still be No. 1, but any of the top five could be ranked No. 1, including former top-ranked

There will be plenty of special athletes in the 5A field, but one to watch closely is Lee. She is the No.1-ranked athlete in Prep Dig Kansas’ Class of 2028 rankings. She has recorded 356 kills for the Thunder in 85 sets played. She is one of the most explosive attackers I have scouted this season. She can play six rotations, and her chunky stat sheet includes 209 digs, 389 serve receptions, and 33 blocks. The Thunder at 26-10 might well be the most dangerous No. 8 seed this week, along with Bishop Miege, the No. 8 Seed in Class 4A. St. James has an interesting resume that includes a win over Maize South, but an overall record of 6-7 against state tournament-qualifying teams.

Lee moves into the No. 1 spot overall after having just a brilliant match, while I happened to be in the gym scouting. Although, to be fair, she was previously ranked No. 2 overall and has the stats and skills to back up the ranking. The element that sets her apart right now from other top-ranked players is the confidence she has in her game and her ability to take control of a match. She can carry her team on her shoulders if needed. Through 54 sets played this season, Lee has recorded 248 kills, 16 blocks, 21, aces, and 148 digs.
