Her mindset stays grounded in composure and presence.
“When I make a mistake, I don’t dwell on it. I quickly assess what happened and focus on doing better the next play.”
She is consistently training, attending clinics, and building her game with intention, while maintaining a clear goal of reaching a high-level program.

shows a clear focus on offensive development, particularly in her approach, timing, and shot selection. Her emphasis on controlled attacking and decision-making reflects a growing understanding of how to challenge a defense rather than simply swing. There is also a developing awareness of volleyball IQ, as she works to read opponents and make more efficient choices within rallies.
“I stay composed during challenges and remain focused on learning and developing.”
Her response reflects a player who values consistency and emotional control, especially in more demanding situations. There is a steady presence in how she approaches the game, along with a willingness to put in additional work outside of practice to continue improving.
She has been working on improving her passing through better platform control and footwork, recognizing the importance of first contact regardless of position. That focus on all-around skill development adds to her reliability within the team system.
Her decision to attend this showcase comes from a desire to gain exposure, compete against strong athletes, and continue learning through feedback and high-level competition.

played with energy and fearlessness that consistently lifted her side of the net. At 5’9″, she showed explosive approach tempo and attacked with intent, finding ways to score both in system and when rallies broke down. Courtside, her ability to tool the block and stay aggressive in long sequences stood out throughout the day.
Catlin also competed defensively, showing strong effort in coverage and staying engaged across rotations. Her motor, combined with her scoring mindset, made her a constant factor and one of the more dynamic young pins we tracked. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

‘s growth is most evident in her shot selection and offensive vision. She speaks directly about moving from swinging to the same spot to intentionally reading the defense and choosing placement. That shift from repetition to processing is significant. She is now attacking with purpose, adjusting based on block positioning and defensive shape rather than defaulting to power alone.
She also references improved communication with her setters, which matters at the pin. Offensive efficiency is rarely individual, and her awareness of connection within the system shows developing volleyball IQ. Strength training and additional private work outside of team practice reflect investment in physical preparation to support that tactical growth.
Her current area of emphasis is defensive range and versatility. She openly acknowledges that defense did not come naturally to her positionally, and instead of avoiding it, she is leaning into discomfort. She is training outside of practice to refine form and build confidence, intentionally becoming comfortable being uncomfortable. That willingness to address a weakness early is often what separates terminal players long term.
When asked what she wants a college coach to understand beyond the stat sheet, she said:
Although I may not be the loudest on the court, my work ethic and passion for this game is undeniable. I always give 100% in everything I do. I do my best to help create a positive culture. I remain humble no matter what, and I go hard for all my teammates.
That quote reflects internal drive and humility. She frames her identity around effort, culture, and team investment rather than volume scoring. For a hitter, that foundation matters when production fluctuates.
Off the court, Nalani describes herself as growth-oriented and willing to stretch outside her comfort zone. She carries the same work ethic into school and daily life, speaks about learning through the game, and emphasizes humility and encouragement. The consistency in her language signals authenticity rather than performance-based confidence.
Payton Osegueda is a player who has impacted Nalani this season. She highlights Payton’s positivity, motivation, and work ethic. Nalani’s admiration for consistency and uplifting presence reflects how she measures value in competitive environments, not just talent, but standard-setting behavior.

💡 Game You’re Proud Of
The part of my game that I’m most proud of right now is how far I have come with my hitting and the opportunity that I have had to play different positions and become more versatile on the court. In addition to practicing with top-notch coaches, I work out in the weight room on my “off” days to condition with Roy Casiano @casianoroy. Having discipline and staying consistent has helped me improve my game physically and mentally. Being surrounded by a team that makes me better and people who look out for me has been key to my improvement, and those are all things that I’m so proud of.
📲 Why This Post Mattered
Being featured on PrepDig CA means a lot to me! PrepDig CA is so much more than an exposure platform. It is a teaching tool and a resource that I personally learn from. The articles are exciting to read, and it is always fun to see people from your class that are absolutely killing it! Not only do I read about people like Yemaya, Sophia-Rose (SR), and Sydney Rincon
Sydney Rincon 5'10" | S/RS Sierra Canyon School | 2029 CA , I have had opportunities to train with them, which makes it that much sweeter. It’s cool to meet people that PrepDig CA writes about!!! It doesn’t matter if they are different positions or different classes, they all have takeaways. All of them are doing something right, and it is nice to have information like that at your fingertips. Coach Michelle is amazing and mentors so many without even knowing it, including myself. So anytime I see a message from her, or she responds to me, provides feedback, or reposts a reel, I feel so special.
🧠 What Coaches Should Know
I want college coaches to know that my work ethic and discipline is unmatched. I think that I have realized early that it takes the extra to get to where YOU want to be. My positive attitude towards not only the game of volleyball but everything that comes with it is contagious, and I try to always be uplifting in every circumstance.

brings strength, presence, and purpose to her role on the right side. Known for her power at the net, she pairs natural athleticism with disciplined off-court training in the weight room and conditioning sessions. She’s focused on improving her passing to stay on the floor longer and contribute in all six rotations. Nalani is also recognized for her leadership and the way she builds positive team culture through strong connections with her teammates.
“I love the connections and friendships that develop throughout the season, and the opportunity to travel with my family,” she shared. “It’s what I do when I’m not on the court that makes me at my best when I’m on the court. I weight train and condition to keep improving.”
Nalani’s goals are as bold as her play. She wants to not only make her high school team but make a statement as a top performer. With a clear desire to dominate in both school and club volleyball, she’s aiming to be one of the best players in her region while also maintaining excellent academic grades and setting an example as a positive role model.
