Olivia Petersen Olivia Petersen 5'8" | OH Chaparral | 2030 State AZ is ranked 18th overall in her state in the class of 2030 and her Top Performer award at the USA Volleyball Junior Nationals Pre-Tournament Showcase gave the college coaches in Indianapolis a chance to see in person what that ranking reflects. The 5’8″ outside hitter from Chaparral competing with Livewire Volleyball Club was one of the more complete performers on the floor throughout the day, contributing as an attacker, holding her ground in serve receive, and staying engaged on the defensive side of the ball. She competed with the confidence of a player comfortable in high-level environments. Her leadership and sportsmanship were visible across every segment of the event. The recruiting conversation around Petersen in the 2030 class is going to get louder and June 24th is part of the reason why. Please help me congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase. 

Olivia Petersen consistently demonstrated a mature offensive approach for a young outside hitter. She showcased quality ball control, remained engaged throughout the session, and attacked with a quick arm that produced solid pace. One of her more impressive traits was the way she accelerated through contact, creating a clean whip at the top of the ball. Combined with her volleyball IQ and steady competitiveness, she was one of the more intriguing young athletes in attendance.

Olivia Petersen Olivia Petersen 5'8" | OH Chaparral | 2030 State AZ is one to watch in the class of 2030 with a frame that still has meaningful physical development ahead and the current dimensions to compete against older athletes right now. As an outside hitter, the evaluation points are approach footwork, contact point consistency, and how well she passes in serve receive when the game speeds up. Players who earn top-20 state recognition in their freshman or pre-freshman years typically have at least one elite tool that stands out above the rest of their profile, and college coaches in Indianapolis should be looking for what that tool is in Petersen’s game. She is a prospect to log early on your short list of players in her grad class.  We know she has tons of growing to do in her position and think her ceiling is super high. 

Peterson helped lead her Livewire 14 Prime team to a 9th place finish. As an outside hitter, not only did she have some very aggressive swings, but she also showcased elite level ball control. In serve receive she had a solid platform and was able to get the ball to her setter wherever she was on the court. While attacking, she had some amazing swings down the line and had numerous shots in her toolbox.
