About Pia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a determined player and I stay focused and do whatever it takes to keep the play alive and help my team succeed. Most importantly, I play with passion, you can tell I genuinely love the sport and have fun every time I’m on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Very motivated constantly wanting to put in the work. I believe trust and connection are what make a team strong, so I focus on being supportive, and someone people can feel comfortable playing next to. I value being coachable, self-aware, and always open to learning, not just wanting to play but grow in all aspects.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and take academics seriously. I won first place in my school science fair, 2025 CARSEF Regional Science Fair, and advanced to state. I’ve earned multiple Ralph D. Vines Speech Awards, including recent recognition for a speech on gender inequality in sports. I've received the federation award for piano as well and involved in debate and young lawyers club.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Balancing school and sports has taught me discipline, focus, and how to build good habits. I volunteer frequently (shelters, nursing homes, camps, hospitals) and always grateful for new experiences!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is the mental side of volleyball especially confidence. I've been prone to be hard on myself and sometimes I've overworked myself, which led to doubt and frustration. But over time, that pressure built a stronger mindset, I've learned how to compete with grit and keep pushing, no matter what.
