It’s key for back-row players, in my opinion, to be loud and communicate, and I saw that from Henson. She took control in the backcourt, communicating with her teammates about who would cover particular seams. Overall, she had a good day defensively. One area where I’d like to see her continue to grow is staying active with her feet in serve receive and keeping her weight forward rather than getting caught on her heels. Doing so will help her react quicker and put herself in a better position to make a strong first contact.

Henson is a player who has continued to improve her skills in the back row. She is really strong defensively and again dedicated to being technically sound. Second-ball passing is another strong suit I noticed in her clips.

Henson impressed with her high-level defensive instincts. She consistently read plays well and positioned herself effectively to take away hitting lanes. Her ability to anticipate both setters and hitters allowed her to make smart decisions in real-time and keep the ball alive in tough situations.
