Mike Bryant | Prep Dig Scout
Sanders is a young middle prospect that knows how to maximize her physical tools while continuing to become more fluid and efficient in her action. She has the benefit of attacking through the distribution of one of the top Ohio setters in this class and they have a great relationship in their connection through a range of options in which she has proven she can score. At 6’1, she works hard to get off the net and identify the ball and makes the right adjustments in transition to ensure she is up and available for the quick options they on a quick and a gap set. She is also improving in her approach pattern and contact off one foot. Defensively, she can block alone or in tandem for good pressure and results.

At the recent Nike Classic, Sanders (*pictured) displayed some of the big gains she has made in her offensive range and impact. The improved efficiency in her movement has helped her timing and ability to use her length to her advantage through a variety of attack points. With good spacing, she can get up and on top of the ball fast in front of her setter as she continues to become more fluid in her approach pattern off one foot overhead. Her confidence is increasing as she will undoubtedly be a big part of her team’s success going forward.

Sanders had a solid freshman season for St. Francis de Sales as she terminated 125 kills for a 1.6 k/s average on a 45% kill rate. She also asserted herself well on the defensive side for 1.6 b/m. Her length at 6’1 is a big part of her game as she showed good assertiveness at the varsity level. Her impact with her Mintonette m.51 team should be noticeable given her improved tools and the balance of skills they will bring to the court through all positions.

Sanders’ physical foundation is a big factor at the 14U level. At 6’1, she has good length in which she uses well to patrol the net defensively to get up and block or take care of any ball in the plane of the net. On the offensive side, she is developing her transition footwork and as she becomes more fluid in her movement and tracking the ball, she will become an even bigger impact with increased point scoring.
