She was third overall offensively in the GWOC last fall with 277 kills and a 3.5 k/s average. She also contributed 176 digs and 40 service aces. A key arm for her Mintonette m.51 team, the 5’9 primary pin is explosive off the floor with an arm to match in the power she can create along with high quality of control. She has good timing to make contact at the peak of her jump that allows her to challenge high hands of the defense with her power and range.

Mintonette m.51 played some dominant volleyball in Pool G as they gave up less points than their opponents overall and while using their point scoring effectively. Ryan not only scored at the net but her six-rotation tools were also in effect as she passed and played defense along with provided some key point scoring runs on her service. Ryan and her teammates earned a perfect 3-0 record without dropping a set and will take on TAV in challenge match #30 in their next match on day two.

Ryan (*pictured) was big during the high school season for Centerville as she was one of the best point scoring arms in the GWOC as a freshman. She finished top three in total kills at 277 for a 3.5 k/s average, earning her a 1st team all-league honor. This experience, gains in assertiveness, and boost in her point scoring confidence should be a huge factor for Mintonette this club season. With good lift at the end of her approach work, Ryan has good vision and court awareness to control her arm and find space through the opposing defense.

Ryan is the other freshman selected to the GWOC 1st team. She was third overall offensively with 277 total kills in her first varsity season. Her 3.6 k/s average led the Elks offensively as her effort helped propel her team to a 13-1 GWOC record (21-3 overall), good for a league crown. She also provided 176 digs and 40 aces. Ryan is 5’9 with good mechanics and an aggressive mindset to score through a variety of attacking tools in the air.

Ryan landed at #4 in the recent readers’ poll. She is putting down 3.3 k/s on a .238 efficiency. Along with Aracri, she is battling for the top offensive spot in the GWOC as she is currently in second place for total kills just four shy of tying the current lead. Her effort is big for Centerville as her team high numbers have guided them to a 12-1 overall record and a current tie atop the GWOC standings at 7-1.

Ryan’s game at this stage is impressive. At 5’9, she can get up well to create a high contact point at the top of her lift, which challenges blockers well. She maximizes that athleticism as a hitter with good footwork in her approach pattern to be able to close to the ball effectively for balance and opportunities to swing with range. Her impact increases with her ability to pass and take healthy swings in other locations. She and her M.41 team are qualified into the 14 American division at the upcoming GJNC.
