Volleyball 16 Black Yun at the prestigious Triple Crown NIT, she proved she can be a number one option on virtually any roster in the country. Floyd is a legitimate threat to score from any location along the net and at any moment in a rally. Her arm swing is thunderous and explosive, and blockers must present disciplined hands and perfect timing or she will tool them out of bounds in a hurry. Being a lefty on the right side only amplifies the challenge for defenses because of the natural angles she can create. She sees the block well and understands how to use it rather than simply overpower it. At 6’3”, she combines length with physicality, making her one of the most difficult matchups in her age group. There are stretches where she can take over a match and score in bunches without forcing swings. Having a right side who can terminate at a high clip like she can is a luxury that completely changes how an offense operates. Her presence opens up space for her teammates and forces opponents to adjust their entire defensive scheme. Her elite level production is a major reason her team is considered one of the top squads in the country this season. With her size, skill set, and ability to control the right side, she has positioned herself among the very best at her position nationally. Please join us in congratulating

is approaching Triple Crown with a clear focus on growth and attention to detail. Her preparation has centered on sharpening the areas of her game that demand the most discipline, including front line blocking responsibilities, staying active in coverage, and helping create strong double blocks. She has also been working to improve her back row attack, focusing on clean contact and driving through the ball to finish plays. Mentally, Sarah is committed to staying focused and tough, especially during the most challenging moments of a match. As a team, TAV continues to emphasize connection, energy, and building a strong bond both on and off the court.
She is especially excited to showcase her blocking, while also bringing consistent effort and energy on every point. Her personal goals are clearly defined, placing an emphasis on purposeful shot placement, impacting the game at the net, and being a reliable offensive option throughout the tournament.
Sarah’s advice highlights the importance of recovery and routine. She encourages athletes to prioritize sleep, take recovery seriously through icing and body care, and lean into simple habits that help manage nerves, whether through music, stretching, or pregame routines. She also stresses the value of mental preparation, reminding athletes that staying driven and focused across multiple days can create an edge for both individuals and teams.

She is next level ready right now. She’s different – I mean that in the best way possible. At 6’3, long, big springs, and a really high contact point there is no stopping her in system. In their set one win over Circle City in the semifinals she was a buzz saw. She was hitting line, cross, over the block, everything. She plays one rotation in the backrow and can terminate from right back. As her back court game expands she has to be one of the top prospects in regards to the USA pipeline. Texas has had a quiet 2027 recruiting class so far, but they have some 2028s in state that will be must gets with Floyd and Maya Ogbogu at the top.

is a towering 6’3″ right-side phenom making waves at USAV Nationals in Dallas. One of her most lethal weapons is her sharp, powerful line shot—delivered with precision and velocity that slices through seams and catches blockers off guard. She expertly reads the block and defense, often setting up the line shot as a go-to kill to exploit over-commitments or late rotations. Alongside her ability to hit over and around blocks, Sarah’s line shot adds a critical dimension to her attacking arsenal, making her a nightmare for opposing defenses to anticipate. Her blocking presence and quick arm swing complete her all-around impact on the court.

Floyd will be with the TAV 15 Black Jason team in the Power Pool of the tournament’s 15s division. Standing at 6’3″, she has a massive presence at the net and is capable of making a difference on both sides of the ball for her team. A lefty, she’s extremely reliable offensively, having the firepower to overcome opposing blockers and put the ball down when in system, but she can also score in difficult plays, making the most of her length and finding great angles with her swings. Floyd is an elite blocker, moving well at the net to get in the way of opposing hitters and playing very aggressively above the net. Unlike most right side hitters of her age, and especially those as tall as she is, she has a solid all-around game, handling her own in serve-receive and serving with great efficiency.
