What immediately stands out about Taylor Toomay Taylor Toomay 6'1" | OH/DS/L Highland Park | 2028 State TX is how naturally she fits into multiple roles without disrupting tempo or structure. Her ability to transition seamlessly between outside hitter and back-row responsibilities reflects a strong technical foundation and advanced understanding of the game. In serve-receive, she stays disciplined with her platform and consistently delivers in-system balls under pressure, giving setters flexibility to move the set around. When attacking from the pin, she uses a clean approach and high contact point to create scoring opportunities through placement and range rather than forced swings. But don’t get me wrong, this young lady has terminating power at her disposal any time she wants it.  While blocking at the net, her 6’0” frame allows her to close space effectively and influence attacks even when she doesn’t record the block. Defensively, she reads early and moves efficiently, turning tough swings into controlled transition opportunities. Long term, Toomay projects as a high-trust, six-rotation player whose adaptability and repeatable mechanics translate well to higher levels.  We have seen her progress so much over the last two years and there is no doubt in my mind that she has so much more potential.  This young lady is poised for a solid season this year and I strongly recommend all college coaches to give her a few looks. 

Taylor is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because we have not released them yet.  She plays volleyball at Highland Park High School and club for the Excel Volleyball program. Miss Toomay made a huge splash at the Expo and we couldn’t be more proud.  I was blown away when I saw her.  Being only a freshman and having this much body control in every aspect of the game really excited me for her future in the sport.  She is quick with footwork and shows awesome ability to adjust to any set while it is in the air.  Her vertical allows her to crank on the ball with enormous power.  Routinely, I saw her hit over the blockers hands.  What I love about her offensive style is how she uses her entire body to add more power into her attack.  She knows how to crunch her abs and use her shoulders right at the point of contact with the ball.  This young fire-baller is a legit threat to attack out of the back row and for that reason, I would never take her out of the game.  This is not the last time you will hear about Miss Toomay from us so stay tuned.  Please help me congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this Expo.
