Scarlett Netherton
About Scarlett
Expert Analysis
Michelle Bamford | Prep Dig Scout
Scarlett Netherton scores in more ways than one. “The best part of my game is finding how to get a point, whether that’s tooling the block, tipping, finding an open spot on the court, and getting a kill. This definitely helps our team when we need a quick point.”
She also brings the energy that keeps a bench engaged. “After a big play made by anyone, I make sure to get really hyped. If my libero gets an amazing save, I will make sure everyone knows she did that.”
Scarlett is building her college list with a goal of playing at the collegiate level. Outside the gym, she loves engineering and hopes to pursue it beyond high school.

Scarlett plays for Metro 15, which is the same team that fills the Bishop O’Conell roster with four players in their starting lineup rotation. She now lists at 5’11” with an approach jump just inches shy of 10 feet. Her fast twitch movements allow her to whip her arm through the zone quickly, putting tremendous power on the ball. Then there is her volleyball IQ to inherently know what areas of the court to direct the ball. She loves to power the ball down the line when it is given to her.
A six rotation player who spent some time early in her career setting while also hitting right side.

She lists at 5’11” but when she stands on the court with her other teammates she appears a little shorter. Early in the season when they played Scarlett they used her as a left side. With

In the third set against Skyline, Metro found themselves down 9-12. Against a team with their talent all they needed to do was play side out volleyball to win the match.
Skyline hit a ball out to give the serve to Metro. Aniston Williams Aniston Williams 6'0" | MB Academy of the Holy Cross | 2029 MD put up one of her many crucial blocks to make it 11-12. After a Skyline kill down the line Aniston got the serve back banging the ball off the middle block for a point. At this stage Metro could not play side out volleyball. Scarlett took care of that rifling a spike off the Skyline block to tie it 13-13. A Raquel Telly Raquel Telly 6'0" | OH/RS Georgetown Day | 2029 State VA kill gave Metro their first lead of the set since 7-6. Scarlett then does what she does best with a cross court kill to the middle of the floor for a 15-13 win.
Of course, none of these actions could happen without the incredible defense of Jaylin Park Jaylin Park 5'6" | DS/L Georgetown Day | 2028 State VA . She found a number of different ways of stopping the Skyline missiles from hitting the floor allowing rallies to continue.
